I wanted to thank all of you ladies for your advice on the trunk show and which bags I should focus on. The little girls bags (just like you all said) were a big hit! I put some Easter grass in them and a couple of plastic eggs and made them more eye catching (or tried to anyway.)
I sold alot of the clothes Sarah has outgrown and so did the other ladies. I was really impressed at how well put together this thing was. We set up on Friday night and then each hostess (there were 26) could buy 7 things before the sale started Saturday AM. There is a girl I went to school with who has 2 daughters, one of which is a year older than Sarah. I was able to pick up a few of her things that are just adorable. She has a system down pat. She buys the clothes (like Kelly's Kids, LeTop, Ragsland, Amanda Remembered (my favorite), etc) and then resells them at this biannual trunk show. Then she turns around and buys more clothing for her girls and keeps the system going. She basically clothes her children for free! I picked up 3 Kelly's Kids 2 piece outfits for summer and then a Ragsland outfit, a cute dress and then another shorts outfit by Austin and Ashley and only spent $61.00 which is a steal for 7. I was very excited. I love the boutique brand clothes but not the boutique brand prices so I try to shop for good bargains. Their re-sale value is good so I think I may the other mom's thing. I asked her to let me look through her size 3 outfits when her daughter starts outgrowing it.
Anyway, the sale started at 9am and at 12, the doors were closed and the hostess were able to buy after that at 1/2 price unless marked otherwise. I didn't mark any of my bags 1/2 price at all. The doors were then opened to the public and then the shoppers bought at 1/2 price. I have never in my life seen so many clothes.
I don't think I'll do this in July at the next one but I will give it some thought. My mom and I were exhausted by the end of yesterday and Al was more so after chasing Sarah around at my parent's house all day. They spent alot of time on the trampoline and the pollen drove his and her sinuses nuts! I will definately go check out the clothes in July if I don't participate.
Best part was I was able to spend some good time with my mom and see some old friends. The show was at an old train depot that since I have moved away, they have rennovated and turned into the Chamber of Commerce. It's GORGEOUS! I was very impressed. Hadn't had the opportunity to go in since they've redone it. Right when you walk in is a "Welcome to Greenville" sign (it's not Greenville though.) That sign was actually used in the movie, Sweet Home Alabama. Eufaula (my hometown) was used in part of the filming. It is shown in the very beginning when the main character is driving into her hometown--the old antebellum homes are shown. I didn'trealize they'd gotton to keep that sign..The azaleas were all in bloom as were the tulips and other variety of flowers and it was just a breathtaking scene. It's so nice to go home.
Anyway, thanks again for all of your advice about the bags. I did take a few orders and passed out some business cards so hopefully that will help! The smaller little girls bags were a big hit though! Hope you all are having a great Sunday! :)

Mary--I like the term "grandma bait." I did see LOADS of grandmother's there buying alot of items (to include my mother!!) LOL!!
I enjoyed the sale but again, don't know if I'll do it again. I will definately go and poke through the clothes.
Like I said, the best part was getting to spend time with my mom.

I'm glad to hear that there is a term for this disease? addiction? obsession? I am constantly finding or sewing things for the grandkids. I now need the bumper sticker that says 'if I knew grandchildren were so much fun I would have had them first.'
