Polyester thread is made from polyester. Poly Cotton is made from Cotton and Polyester. I couldn't resist that. It's been a rough day and you made it so easy. Dorothy |

Sometimes the poly cotton thread is actually cotton thread wrapped in polyester. It really varies from brand to brand.

Even when I'm having a bad day, you guys just crack me up! Might try looking at www.superiorthreads.com Check under Education: Threads. Don't forget to check out Bob's 'Superior' Jokes, too! I attended a seminar last year with Bob Purcell presenting and it was fantastic! Everything you always wanted to know about thread (and needles) but were afraid to ask! Extremely thorough and interesting. OT: How many of you are/were aware of this momentous day in the history of time? This is what I needed today. I've been moping around since Sunday. You guys make me feel so much better!!!! Haven't had time to get on line much, new full time job (argh). Anyhow, thread, the rule of thumb (who makes up these sayings??) is - sewing with cotton, use cotton thread, sewing with polyester cotton, use polyester cotton, etc. And if sewing for outdoor stuff I always use polyester, as the cotton will rot in time. There's my three cents worth. Laura
