I bought some black fabric today from Joann's to use for the back of a raggy quilt I am using. Here's what it looks like, but in blue:

First, is it ok to use this for a raggy? Also, what type (universal, sharp) and size of needle do I use? For the front of the quilt, I am just using regular quilting cotton squares. Should I cut the furry stuff into squares like I did for the front of the quilt or should I just leave it all in one piece and sew it to the front after the squares have been sewn together? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am a beginner and anxious to learn :)

I bought some of this for my ferrets to play in, in black...I wouldn't use it for clothes or a quilt...it sheds like theres no tomorrow. You should see all the black on my gray carpet.....(even when the ferrets AREN'T playing in it..)
