Well, I found white shoes..My mother used to drive me nuts on expeditions for the perfect shoes for my brother and me and I am turning into my mother! I have searched high and low for plain white Sunday shoes for my little one and had not found any for her that I liked..I finally found some yesterday! I felt like I had won the lottery. Isn't it funny how we get excited over little things like finding white shoes once we get older!! I am hopeful she can wear these through Labor Day so I won't have to do this again. Yesterday was a productive day. I have been so busy that I haven't had time to take care of some of the little things I needed to take care of..I found shoes for Sarah, also picked up another pair of little white panties and a slip and a white hairbow for her Easter dress. I ordered some little gift enclosure cards for her with her name on them and helped my girlfriend pick out some new clothes at Macy's. It was a nice "girl's day" that I needed desperately! Now Im at home cleaning..uuuuggggghhhhhh..hoping to sew this afternoon. I think I'm turning into my mom. I reminded myself of her yesterday when I was shoe shopping! I hated with a passion shoe shopping with my mom. I wonder if my teenager thinks the same about shoe shopping with me!! Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and say hello..hope you're all having a great Thursday!! Back to the dust cloth! Julie

Luckily I only 'hear' my mother when I talk sometimes...(and when I wear red lipstick I see her in the mirror....thats why I don't wear makeup often...it's scary). I see my mother more in my sister than me...(thank heavens for that.) But I don't tell her that, she'd kill me... My grandmother made our clothes as kids...so me, my sister and brother were all dressed alike for Easter. (no my brother did NOT wear a dress....it was shorts or pants and a jacket that matched our dresses.) I remember the little shoes, anklets, purses, gloves and a d*** hat...I don't know which I hated most, the hat's or the socks that fell down in my shoes. (or the shoes I hated to wear...). I have the lovely pictures to prove this..(in a box, hidden in a closet, where I hope no one finds them till I die....). Maybe it was the slips I had to wear to make my skirts stand out....(itched me to death). My husband wonders why I hate to wear dresses...and shoes...and lipstick... Chrys

I found an old photograph of my Mum when she was 40 - she looked 60. We look alike except the lines on my face go up and hers go down. The scariest thing is, I once (in the spirit of true empirical scientific investigation) mascara-ed my moustache to see what I would look like. My brother stared back at me out of the mirror - now tTHAT was frightening - fir the same reason I WILL not wear my hair with a side parting.(shudder) love and kisses, Jan

I always thought of my mother as old -- she was 40 when I was born and much older than all my friends' mothers. Now when I walk by a mirror and see her it makes me feel old. Unfortunately I am not as much like my mother as I wish I was. She was a remarkable woman and I'm not. Dorothy |

My mother is 97 and looks much, much, much younger........her skin is perfect and she has less lines than I do! But the thing that scared me the most was, right after knee surgery, I looked in the mirror and my GREAT grandmother was staring out at me........looking like she did at 99! I couldn't get the makeup on fast enough!!!!!! |

My sister reminds me so much of my mom. I don't look a lot like my mom, more like my dad, but since I have found this relationship with my sister, and when I see her and how much her mannerisms are like mom, it makes me love her even more. But there are times when I say or do things, that I think, oh my gosh, my mom did that. What's even scarier is when I do things like my mother-in-law!!!!

I have picked up alot of my mom's mannerisms--her ideas and her ways about life. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever be quite as ladylike as she is. I try but alas..not gonna happen! LOL! She's the epitamy of a Southern woman. The odd thing about it all is that my brother and I are both adopted. I was adopted when I was 2 months and he at 6 months. Alot of people would NEVER ever suspect it b/c as I have gotton older, I look more and more like my mom and her mom except my mother is 4'11" and I'm a little taller than that!! My mom and brother have the same olive complexion and my dad and I both have blue eyes/fair skin but my facial structure is just like my mom and her mom's..isn't that funny? Someone had a baby shower for me and my mom, grandmother and I were sitting side by side and the hostess said "I would know anywhere that the 3 of you were related." We giggled..I took it as quite the compliment. I know nothing really about my biological mom and don't want to--I have a mom that is MY MOM! Julie

None us are adopted, but we don't look alike either... I have dark hair and green eyes (light skin from no sun) My sister has DARK skin, red hair and eyes so dark brown they look black. My brother is a blue eyed blonde. Now my husband and his brothers and sister look like their parents....you cannot mistake them for anyone else... Chrys
