Hi...I was on here a while back ago. I hope everyone is doing well!
I am making some really cute dresses for birthday's this year! SO FUN!

Well last night...I was just about out of thread so I decided to change it and I bought some nice thread and put that on the bobin and since I had the bobin out I though well I haven't cleaned it in a while. So I put a little drops of the oil on the tiny brush and brushed around and got some lint out.
Well I rethreaded everything and when I went to sew its jamming???!!!
So I took everything off and rethreaded again and it seemed to do better but when I sewed backwards...then forwards it seemed like it gave me trouble. So rethreaded again and then it seemed like it was better. So then I sewed some of the dress I am making and it seemed fine. But then when I did the other seam it was all bunched up on the bottom...
Can any of you experts tell me what is wrong. I am still sort of new to sewing so I don't know all the tricks and things that could possibly go wrong..but it made me sooo furious I just turned it off!
Thanks!!!!

Hello,
Here are some things to try. First use your machine's manual to take apart the bobbin area and make sure you didn't leave any lint behind. If you pushed any lint somewhere it could cause that to happen. Use a dry brush without oil on it. It's not good to "blow" lint away. It can push it down into the machine. Next make sure you have your bobbin threaded correctly. If your bobbin is not threaded in the correct direction it can cause loopies(biggest cause of problems in my classes). If that doesn't work also try to change your needle. Dull needles can cause problems too.

Hope that helps,
Carol

Thanks Carol! I was thinking last night it could have been the needle too.

I guess as the old saying goes...don't fix anything that isn't broken. I thought after making 3 dresses and 11 purses (for kids) that it probably had a bunch of lint in there.
I guess I will take it apart....ahhh...I hate to do that! Or maybe I should change the needle first!

If you have sewn that many things without cleaning your machine, you were very lucky. I clean mine at the very least when I have finished a project. But since I am more of a quilter than a sewer, I clean mine when I am finished sewing for the day. If I haven't sewn for a long length of time, I will clean it the next time.
