I love smocked outfits and I would love to learn how to smock. Can any of you ladies recommend ways to learn for someone with a busy schedule. I would love to find a class around here but time is a big problem for me. Are there any good books or videos?
Thanks in advance..Julie

Welcome to smocking Julie, you will love it. I suggest, you read everything you can get your hands on. There are books, and video's also get a good smocking magazine like martha Pullen Sew beautiful. In the magazine, you will find advertisments for smocking shops and there might be one in your area where you can take at least one class. Also,I have a site dedicated to helping people learn to smock, there is always someone on there willing to walk you through a project. Lots of us seasoned smockers learned from books,so it is possible.

I'm actually planning on going to a beginner smocking class locally on Friday!! I am very excited. It's a great price and 2 1/2 hours so that's not too bad. This place has several different classes for different levels of smocking. I've always wanted to learn. Very excited.
