Just was wondering what everyone had planned for Easter? I hope it's a terrific weekend for you all!
We will be in Alabama on Sunday afternoon. My aunt is hosting a picnic at her house and then we'll go back over to my mom's. Daddy has 2 sisters who all have children/grandchildren so there's alot of us when we all get together. We'll go to church up here and drive up to Eufaula afterwards. They are an hour behind us so we'll get there (an hrs drive) about the time my parents get out of church.
I'm really excited about the weekend. Tomorrow will probably just be a day around the house. Hubby has to work in the AM but not sure how long. Hopefully he'll be home around lunch. Next week will be busy again with softball and the like and I'm going to a beginner smocking class on Friday. Very excited about that.
Well, just popped in to say hello and Happy Easter..hope the Easter bunny is very good to you all! Julie :)

Sleeep!
My eldest daughter (22) got married on Weds/Thurs and we have finaly finished clearing up. DD2 is back to college on Saturday and it will be m eand my husband again for a fw days until daughter 1 and her new husband return from their honeymoon on Monday and stay with us for a week before they go back to University.
Tony is leading the meeting at church on Sunday so has been picking out some photos to show everyone of our beautiful Pagan daughter. No special dinner or anything - we just want some down time before we start work on the house (painting, re-laying patio etc).
love and kisses, Jan

Was planning a quiet dinner with my daughter (her BF has to work) but yesterday my 2nd son called and wanted to know if I was making dinner and then today my oldest son called and wanted to know the same thing. Told them both I hadn't planned on it as they all usually go to the in-laws but if they want to eat here I will cook....they are supposed to let me know tomorrow. I'm ok for any of it....we are headed to my eldest son's tomorrow for dinner and a late birthday party for him and I was going to take the grandkids Easter stuff over there then so it's not like I wouldn't be seeing anyone. Oh well, just goes to show, best laid plans......

i had dinner for 13 planned (Sunday dinner) and today my mom and dad (sister kept it secret) surprised me and are here too, so now its 15 at the table. mom and dad came from the Abbotsford, B.C. so that was a WONDERFUL surprise. they are staying at my brothers for a couple days (as he was on the surprise too, and that will give me my kitchen time to get ready for Sunday, turkey and ham and all the fixins, i even found two LOW carb and LOW fat and believe it or not REALLY good desserts for my sister and i as that is what is keeping that scale going down

i hate cooking for just my husband and i, BUT i love to cook for a big table of friends and family, i have long ago not gotten stressed over it and just enjoy every moment, it makes a much more enjoyable day.

Not a lot here.. Picked up DD on Friday to bring her home for the weekend.
will go up to her Church on Saturday services.

We will have a nice Sunday dinner, take her back up to Collage that night

In between I have a lot of gardening to take care of and some mowing..

I have already planted Onions, Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, Squash and Cucumbers (The Squash and Cucumbers just popped up out of the ground Two days ago. and are still coming up)
Lots of hanging baskets filled up with flowers ( I think I have 10 hanging baskets)
Two big pots also filled up, and the walkways have flowers also, other beds too..
The walk way flower beds where in bad shape, but they are slowly getting better :)

( this is the time I really wished I had a Dh who would do ANY TYPE of yard work.. Mowing including. )

But one thing that little rains gives you, is that the grass doesnt grow very fast.. and it is still a lot of weeds, some grasses are starting to come out.

and my allergies are getting worse as spring, is springing on us.

I cooked a scrumptious ham dinner with a new recipe for mashed potatoes that everybody loved and they were easy to prepare ahead of time so no last minute rush to mash the spuds...it was great!

However, I was supposed to have 10 for dinner and ended up with only 8 as my very rude nephew and his wife didn't show and didn't even bother to call. I was quite upset over that as I had a last minute switching to do with the place settings. His mother was here and she wasn't too happy with him either as she had his two kids with her and he spends very little time with them as it is (from his first wife who has custody) ...anyway they were looking forward to spending time with their dad and he does this no show act! Very upsetting for all.

Here is a link for the potato recipe if anyone is interested...they are delicious!

I didn't add the chopped onions or chives as there were kids coming and you know how they are about onions! LOL

After dinner my kids stuck around and they went 4 wheeling thru the woods and had a great time.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter.
