I think this has been discussed before but I can't find the thread. I need a good snap setter with a new grandchild on the way-know I'll be having to add snaps to a lot of things. Hard to find the snap tape around here. I have my mom's old tool but it's one of those that look like pliers and you never get it right the first time.

I've been debating on getting a snap setter for years and after reading lots of reviews, I just ordered the snap setter from Snapsource. I think the website is www.snapsource.com
In fact, I just received an email from them that they are shipping today.

I'm happy enough with my Dritz snap plier. sewbaby.com also has snap tapes in baby-clothes-friendly colors and sizes, typically.

I bought one of these snap setters the other day and think they are a good thing but the only thing I didn't realize was they use a certain size of snaps(16). In my infinite wisdom thought they were basically all the same size. I had bought some snaps from another store (a big bag full) but they don't fit like the picture shows, however I did get it to work and it made a good job. Next time I buy snaps I'll get the proper size.

I have the plier ones I guess. Joanns sells them and they came with a few snaps and eyelets. I like them alot and my hubbie has to clamp them but thats only beacuse of my authritus. He doesnt mind, infact he brags about how he helped make the outfit!!

I think I'm going to order the snap setter and see how it works. I have the pliers but most of the time I don't have the strength to use them well enough and no hubby to do it for me.

Thanks for the help!

I just got my snapsetter today. I ordered some snaps but it had some practice snaps with it. I tried it out and it was WONDERFUL!! Well worth it, at least for me. I am going to order the size 24 adapter because I am going to make my daughter a wonder jacket from Sew Baby.
