My sister does the Dresden Plate. I love the dark background, but the Orchids and Birds is stunning as well.

http://www.mcall.com/news/local/all-hmongday1apr23,0,3671214.story I usually read the online newspaper for Allentown, PA because my son lives there (I'm checking up on his neighborhood and all the activity because he won't tell me what is happening because I'll worry - young professionals reclaiming the historic district). Recently the local newspaper had a series on the Lancaster mennonites out sourcing with the Hmong to make their quilts. When I saw the pictues of the quilts for the relief sale it reminded me that it is always buyer beware and a consumer should always ask never assuming the origin of a quilt. Wonder if other mennonite/amish communities out source their work? Patty22 ps. I loved the quilts except for the origami designed piece. Patty

I read something about the Amish outsourcing the quilts. It is creating quite a stir. Very unsettling for people who think they have bought an Amish quilt.
