Okay, here's the deal. I bought a pattern for a shopping cart cover. It has you cut out 2 squares for the legholes. All the directions say are "bind the legholes." I have the binding that it requires. I have no idea how to apply it to the inside of something. I have bound quilts and necklines etc. I hope someone understands what I am saying. I need a general idea how to apply. My first 2 attempts failed. Thanks for any input.

I'm sorry you're having a tough time. I've done this, probably for the same shopping cart cover, and I know you can too. Let's make sure we're on the same page. Are you using double fold bias tape to bind it? And the problem is, if I hear you right, how do you apply that on an inside curve, such as binding a square-ish hole, vs anon an outside curve, such as on the edge of a quilt? Let us know if that's what we're dealing with, and we'll get you sorted out :)

See if this site helps, b/c it has illustrations that might illuminate: bias tape how-to (http://www.sewing.org/enthusiast/html/el_biasbinding.html) I think the trick is doing it in 2 phases--First, open out the tape and apply right sides together and stitch all around, remembering to fold under the raw edge where the tape overlaps itself. Second, flip the tape around the raw edge to the other side and tuck the raw edge under. Then you'll either top-stitch from the right side, catching the wrong side on the bottom, or else you'll use a slip stitch on the back.

Yes, we are on the same page. I have the double fold bias binding and the square hole mocks me now.

ok, it is a perfect square? I mean, are the corners sharp, or are they a little rounded? The ones I did had rounded corners, and so they were easier. A 90 degree angle...calls for mitering corners. I seem to recall reading something about how to do that on the Wright's website, and I had to hunt for it, too.

yeah it has sharp corners, I've mitered quilt corners before but this is so weird working on the inside. next time I am making a rounded hole.
