Now that I'm no longer stuck in limbo (thanks Mary) I thought I would introduce myself. I like to visit these sites because you never know when you might learn something new about what you love to do. For me that's quilting for the most part.

I also love to knit, make baskets and read. I also garden and I've done my share of cross-stitch, hand embroidery, ceramics and when I get the chance, I still love photography. But back to quilting. I've been sewing since I was a kid and I used to help my great-grandmother make quilts when she lived with us. I made my first real quilt when DD was 10 and she saw an afghan she liked, but wanted the same design made into a quilt. Even then, I wasn't that serious about it. It took another couple of years and 1/2 dozen quilts later that I thought if I was going to continue to make quilts, I ought to know exactly what I was doing. So I bought some books and started to teach myself the proper way to make a quilt.

Now that I've made more quilts than I can count, I think I'm on the right track. I have requests from my various nieces and nephews and now that some of them are having babies, I get to continue to make quilts to my heart's content. Like I ever really need an excuse anyway.

Yes, the swap boards are busy, busy, busy at times. Lots of them. Find out which one or ones you want to join. Everyone is welcome.
