Saw this on some magazine and thought I would ask it of all of you. The Mother's Day gift fairy has visited you and will grant you one gift. The catch to this is, it has to be a material gift. No saying I want world peace, or all my kids with me. Money is not an issue.

So what if anything would you ask for?

I am between a Harley and a camper. The selfish side of me wants a Harley, the mothering side of me says a camper.

Well I wouldn't mind an embroidery machine, but I told my husband I want new glasses since in the real world money is a factor.

But it's not fair to take away the world peace option.

Loads of books and the time to read them. LOL.

I am like a little kid, I want lots of things but I'm blessed with good health, my family and a husband that has put up with me for (good grief) 40 yrs. next anniversary.

I would LOVE to have a place to run away to on the weekends.

I want a personal trainer to come to my house everyday and work out with me. I need to get this body back into shape - sitting on my "you-know-what" all day at work has not helped my waistline. I'm not overweight, it's just not as curvy as it used to be.
I want the time to go back to the country western bar where I'd go once a week and danced for 4 or 5 hours (great cardio workout) - babysitter is not an option on a week night. I'd like to go back and do that on Tuesday nights.
I want an embroidery machine with all the necessities that go along with it.
I want another baby, but at 41, it's not a healthy option for me (too many problems first time around - thankfully God blessed me with a healthy girl).
Am I being too greedy?
- Maureen.

A longarm quilting machine with stitch regulator and laser guide. Then I could quilt all of the tops I've pieced. Talk about greedy!

I wouldn't mind having my house finished exactly like I've been envisioning it since we started it 20 years ago. DH is planning to start building a second garage this summer and the house isn't done yet. All I want is a completely finished house.

We're just at a point where all the appliances in our house are going on the fritz  - washing machine won't always spin, microwave only works with the numbers 1,2,3 (really difficult when power goes at 5:49 and the clock needs to be reset  ) the bbq grill crumbled from use....blah, blah.....the list goes on and on........................

The reality is there's never any extra cash with one daughter an undergrad and another daughter working on her doctorate - but I have always felt that where there is a will, there is a way.

Today during lunch at work, my husband and I took a walk through a local cemetery and my mind drifted off to when my MIL made my husband buy five cemetery plots when my FIL died in 1985. (I guess it was for my husband and my kids because we would have needed six!) Hmmmmm....the light bulb in the brain goes off and I am thinking those cemetery plots are enough to cover the appliances, plus enough to go towards a new sewing machine. I always felt that cremation was better for the planet or getting a green plot (where no casket is used and the body is not embalmed).

Am I bad or what? Sorry about digressing with this thread, but the moment was euphoric. I will have to let you know if I can talk to my husband about parting with the worm chow plots. Hmmm .....how will I broach the subject?

Today has it's own special wish list. First some "magical" shoes that would keep my feet from hurting. Then a maid at home so when I get home I could actually sit down and put the feet up and rest them instead of having to clean. then when the maid is done cleaning and before she goes home she could fill the bathtub for me (whirlpool would be even better)and I could soak uninterupted as long as I wanted. Sorry girls, it's was a long tough day at work as you might have guessed by now.

I want a rancher on 1-2 acres with trees, and a view of the mountains, preferably on a lake or the ocean, with huge windows, 5 bedrooms, one of which will be my sewing room, two full bathrooms, a great room (instead of a kitchen, a dining room and a living room) a huge 3 car garage and a shop with a 1/2 bathroom in it for my honey, also needs a fireplace and to be on natural gas and city water plus enough money to pay for the landscaping the way I want it AND I want to be in a 1/2 time job, so I only work 2 days a week. How's that for being greedy. Nothing a couple of million wouldn't provide!

A rich sugar daddy who visits only when I want and gives me all I want, like most of the things the rest of you want and a mind not to feel guilty or ashamed about even thinking about it.

Feminism is getting a little tiring to this single old bird!! :bolt:

And a chauffeur always available with a nice non ostentatious car.

I would love to have the house of my dreams on on a Ocean front lot. Lots of windows and fireplaces inside and out and unlimited $$$ funds to be able to support living in this new home. There has to be plently of property for the kids to build homes of their own on (these could be used as vacation homes if they wanted). It has to be in a area that does get snow in the winter though. Of course a sewing room to die for, and all the NEW goodies to go with it. Then I will need a new set of wheels to make sure I get "safely" to the fabric stores and back home again. Has to be a maid also, I can't be bothered with cooking and cleaning, I have SEWING TO DO!!!!!!

I would like a new Bernina Serger. That's my realistic gift!

Otherwise, I would like a custom built home, on 2 acres, out in the country where the weather stays 75 degrees and sunny all the time. It needs to have a large, well stocked pond that has been landscaped with easy to take care of flowers, shrubs and trees, free from all insects- especially wasps and chiggers. I would also like it to have birds of all kinds that will not be afraid of me, kitties that stay kitties, and puppies that stay puppies. LOL

I would also like to have my own pattern maker/alterer that will sew my muslins for me and figure out the kinks so that I can sew the perfect outfit without having the frustrations before!

This was a lot of fun- dream big!!!

A slightly larger house, say 2500 sf maximum; a separate family room, 4 bedrooms (one for my sewing room) and a completely finished basement. Laundry room has to be on 2nd floor, so I don't have to carry stuff, plus needs to have 2 dryers. I'd like it to be on a full acre -- fenced yard, nice wooden playset for the kids. Within walking distance to a park & a fishing pond.

OR, I'd just like someone to come clean my house from top to bottom, and then come in monthly to do the heavy cleaning.

I'm going to be very greedy. I want a huge sewing room instead of the closet type one I have now and it's going to have an embroidery machine and a long-arm (automatic of course) and room for all my other crafts in their own section (beading, scrapbooking, sculpting, etc.) and a house in Florida for the winter that also has a sewing room!....and plane tickets for my dtrs, spouses and grandkids to visit in Florida any time they want!

......it's so nice to dream!!!!!

Boy --
Everybody wants a big house. I'd like to get rid of this 160-year-old monster and get a nice little condo or apartment -- just big enough for me, hubby and Lucy the dog with an extra bedroom for a sewing room.

I'm with you Dorothy. I have had the big house, but I now have a nice townhouse condo - a real treasure as it is only one story, few stairs, lovely big patio, and lots of garden and lawn someone else looks after. But it would be nice if the rooms were a little larger and I had a real guest room (or a visitor suite) so I don't have to shift my sewing when I have visitors and someone tp clean and dejunk.

But I still want the sugar daddy! In case I find something else I would like and I can't think of now....like what to have for dinner and someone to cook it.
Every now and then this little rhymn goes through my mind. Maybe someone can recall the source ... "poof, poof, piffles, make me as small as sniffles and bring me......" As I don't seem to have a small sniffles (in character at any rate) and the pixies are totally ignoring me these days I had to go out and buy a garden elf today so I will see what is forth coming. :nervous:
