Who needs a fairy when you have a lovely daughter like mine. I was sitting at the computer when my husband came in with a small padded envelope from Hancock Fabric. "Ah," I thought, "Probably a nice little gift (I could feel a thimble in there) and a note to me -- a preferred customer -- saying 'tough luck, we're closing the store near you.'" Instead it was a $50 gift certificate from my baby girl. I jumped in the car and, breaking all speed limits, rushed to the store. I wanted to get there before they sell everything since they are closing the store and having a huge sale. Well, there was still plenty of stuff and I got lots of fabric, some cotton yarn to crochet a hat and a sewing book. When I got home there was a UPS package from the same daughter on the doorstep. It was a beautiful miniature rose bush in bloom with tiny white roses. It is sitting in my sewing room window. The instructions say plant it outside when it stops blooming. So I don't need the Mothers' Day Fairy after all. Dorothy |

Dorothy, What a nice daughter to surprise you with fabric and flowers! Let me know sometime when you head out to Hancock and maybe I'll be able to meet you there! Carmen, I keep watching your scale go down and I shake my head in amazement. Your weight loss is impressive! Patty Patty

My kids went together & gave me $100 to Menards so I can get flowers & Statues for my garden. I also got dinner (KFC) brought to me & I didn't have to do any clean up. This is what I hinted for. They are really listening to me!!!! My oldest son jokingly said Mom yuor not worth that much, before I could respond his brother piped in that Mom was worth way more than that. That made my day. Then DH made them let me watch "Survivor" instead of "Extreme House Makover" or Basketball. They didn't even change it when I started dozing off. I had been at my Sisters for the weekend with 4 of the kids. We left the house a mess on Sat. morning when we left When we got home DH & DS (19) had done all of the dishes & straightened up the rest of the downstairs. It was a great night.
