Hi everyone. I am looking for a pattern for a nightgown for my granddaughter. She is in a size 12months. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks from rainy and wet Massachusetts!!! LOL
If I had known that grandchildren were so much fun, I would have had them first!!

What about using a T-shirt pattern - extending the length a bit and if getting it on and off is difficult, leaving one shoulder seam open and putting snaps on for closures.

My kids (all four of them) would run to my husband's closet and grab one of his race T-shirts as pajamas. When they were really little squirts the shirts would almost touch the floor.

My grandsons think they are so cool when they wear one of Grampy's T shirts. When they stay all night, this is a real treat for them.

Remember the 90s?
One day my husband came home to find both his middle school daughter and her best friend (who was practically living with us at the time) running around in his boxer shorts.
"I was used to the T-shirts, accepting the socks," he said. "But that's my underwear!!"

Thanks everyone! I too used to run around in Daddy's T-shirts when I was a LOT younger. Guess I am kinda thinking of frilly, lacey nighties...she is 18 months old and her mom & I want to keep her a little princess as long as we can.
Thanks again!!!

I've used a simple sundress pattern for a nightie and a 2 piece set Butterick 4020, then I have Burda 9801 for a nightie and Butterick 3919 for a long sleeved ruffled nightie.

Hi, I am a grandmother of 8 now. My youngest is 8 years old, and I really miss sewing for them now that they are older.(too picky now especially the teens LOL)Most of the other ladies were referring to older children. My grandkids like big t-shirts too. Any way , my suggestion is to go on line and just type in "sewing patterns". As a matter of fact I did this earlier today looking for a pant pattern. You should be able to find a site that has nearly all the Pattern Companies. You can click on their Icon and a whole selection of their patterns will come up. You can then choose INFANTS and most likely find what you are looking for. A lot of the patterns can be ordered on line, if you aren't near a fabric store or the store you have doesn't carry that brand of patterns. Good luck. I agree, If I had known grandkids were this much fun I would have had them first " also !!!
