I have a skirt question. I usually make out of 1oo % cotton. I usally put elastic in it. Sometimes , I put pockets in them and sometimes not, I have sewed for years. But, I make quick things. I love to make aprons.and quilts.

?Question? ( I almost forgot to ask) Tee Hee.

Is there a fast easy way to put in band to your skirt other that elastic and an easy way? Thanks Pinkroses.
I know I have a guradian angel watching over me. I am very gratefull. PINKROSES

Hi, and welcome! Constructing a non-elastic wasteband isn't hard at all, plus it gives you the option to make that fast & easy skirt with gathers/pleats/straight/bias cut styling options. You'll find easy to follow instructions and illustrations in a 99cent pattern, so it might be worth the purchase. I'm usually good at finding these things online, but I came up with nothing this time! The *slightly* tricky part is that you'd need to have a way to widen the opening so you can get into it, which is typically a zipper. Here's a link showing how to do a zipper. They're intimidating at first, but once you try, you'll find it's really not hard at all. Threads zipper article (http://www.taunton.com/threads/pages/t00168.asp) Do you think you'll try something new?
