Has anyone heard from Brenda and Suzie? I was just kind of worried about Brenda, since last we heard she was ill. I emailed her but got no reply. Then I was thinking -- we haven't heard from Suzie either. Dorothy |

I heard from Susie about a week and a half ago. She had changed her email address, so it took some tracking down to find her. I'll send her a note and let her know she is asked for

I've been run ragged so much lately I don't know which end is up. Thank you Andrea for emailing me and letting me I was being asked about. I am so tired my legs won't go any more. I now have two of my sons living with me and next to me. My baby son, the one that I was so worried about with the drug situation is now living with us and so far he's been doing better. I refused to have him here doing drugs or going away and coming back here messed up on drugs and so far he's been straight and it's been a week and 3 days since he's here. I have been having to take his son to school all last week which is an hour away. That made 2 hours round trip in the morning and 2 hours round trip in the evenings but now he's out of school for the summer and I don't have to go back and forth. He's been working for my husband and that makes me feel better knowing he's working. My other son who has lived next door in the Fema trailer since we moved here is moving next week in his new place not far from us. My baby son then will live in the Fema trailer. We spoke to the Fema people and since he's been approved for a fema trailer himself he can move in this one when my son leaves. On top of all this, I've been taking in embroidery for the school's 5th and 6th grade graduation class. 130 pencil cases had to be monogramed and two arm bands for the boys that were picked to be Mr Chesbrough. Now to get to the things that are happening around here that is good. Someone might be interested in our property in Chalmette. they asked for the survey of the land. Then my husband poured the slab for his huge garage and has it almost built. Our sewing guild had their second meeting since Katrina this Saturday and they gave out a lot of bags of things that the ASG headquarters sent them to give all the ones that lost things in Katrina. My neighbor comes to my house after 9:00PM most every night and we sew until around 2:00AM in the morning making project with each other. So you see I haven't been on the computer except to pay bills and check emails. But I'm still here and love everyone of you and think of you all often. I'll try to check in more often I promise. As for Bren. I haven't heard from her either and she had a birthday this month and I didn't even stop to call her and say Happy Birthday. Last I heard she is doing okay the test came back good. I'll try to find her and tell her to pop in and say HI. Hugs to all of you. I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

I have been thinking of you Susie, glad to hear you are ok. Take it easy. Those kids can run you ragged in no time. Ask me how I know.

This came today Hi Dorothy. Thanks so much for your concern...I am a feeling a bit better...I have got on Lot's of medication and am not coughing so bad anymore... which is a blessing... don't feel like I'm going to die or be put on a oxygen tank... if anything ever threw me for a loop...hearing I had emphysema sure did!!! I smoked for years!! don't know why it shocked me so...I quite about 6 years ago...anyway I am handling it quite well now ...got over the fear of it . I felt so bad to hear a 61 year old woman died today from long cancer and never smoked ...but worked in a restaurant that had smoking in it most of her working years... I feel bad of how many people I had affected when I smoked including myself...I was so ignorant. I have been going for a lot of tests lately ...and just been very tired...I also swim every night for an hour ...and have managed to take of 12 pounds...so that has help me feel better. I have tried to reply to Sew What's New...but I can't get on ...I sent for a new password but that does not work either...Would you let them know my problem ...and share my letter with every one please. I joined a site I found for diet called sparkpeople.com free site and I really like it ...has a calorie counter and ton's of info...I tried to share that with the group to but like I said I can't get on the site. I think Susie has been very busy... I emailed her two weeks ago... she has still not answered me...I will try her again...I got a picture from her of Raymond building his garage...so maybe shes busy helping him. I seen your wrap you made your daughter...very nice Dorothy...your a good sewer...I have only done little things for the kids ...I don't have a sewing room ...so use my bedroom and it is hard to get the room to myself. I have been fighting the fatigue thing...I get threw the morning okay... but by late afternoon ...I'm fighting to stay awake ...must be the weather. Thanks again for your concern...I will keep in touch. Brenda P |
