I was just reading the description of an upcoming Sewing with Nancy on public tv. It said it's going to be about techniques for a "floor quilt." What is that? I mean, do people make quilts that are meant to be floor coverings?? --clueless.

I can't wait to find out either. The only thing I know that it called anything close to that would be a floor cloth. That just a painted canvas though. Now this will drive me crazy until I find out what it is. Hope it's soon as I don't think my drive is a very long one. LOL. |

Haha! Now I don't feel so foolish. Thanks! Well, the Seiwng W/ Nancy program airs this coming Saturday. To tell you the truth, I wasn't really thinking of recording it at all, b/c I'm not much of a quilter. Plus, when I learn new techniques, I start coming up with new ideas and projects, and right now I have plenty on my plate!!! So, at the expense of our collective potential knowledge, I'm going to pass on watching the program this time. Sorry. Still, if anyone happens to catch that episode, give us a holler and clue us in!

I don't know of it's the same episode or not, but a week or two ago I watched Sewing with Nancy and the guest made a bath mat for the floor. It was actually a small quilt. I think the show was in the "cotton theory" quilting episodes. They used a tuck & fold technique for the seams that finished the front and back and quilted it at the same time. It had tiny footprints embroidered across it and was reversible. Very cute . It made me wonder if it would work to use terry cloth for batting. |

Yes, the bath quilt is from the cotton theory book. I have the book. You probably could use terry cloth. I will be making something from the book very soon.

Carolyn, let us know how it turns out. I wanted to try making the tote bag they showed too. |
