I have been thinking ahead for the site. Please let me know what you think of this idea. In the fall, I am wondering if anyone would like to offer a lesson in something sewing related. It can be sewing, quilting, sewing organization, practically anything to do with sewing. This could be a one time thing or once a month, whatever suits you best. I was thinking seam finishing, basic serger lessons, etc. If you would like to volunteer something, post here. We have lots of time to mull this over and exchange ideas. If you have other suggestions, I am all ears. Post them here as well. MaryW

Sounds good to me, Mary. But was a bit nervous about responding as my last boss, before I retired, always said when we had a suggestion we had to do it!! As I tend to be more of a creative planner than doer, it got me into a lot of hot water.

I could demo prairie corners, or fabric flowers...

My mistake--I meant Prairie Points, as an edging/border.

I don't have anything I could teach - but I would REALLY like to learn how to make fabric or ribbon flowers. Maybe people could post things they'd be interested in learning then if anyone knows how to do those things you could compile the lessons/teachers. Just a thought. Brandy~ |

I'm not good at teaching but love learning. I would love to see Andrea teach us prairie points, I'd also like to learn how to stipple a quilt...I've been really timid about trying my hand at free motion quilting as I'm not even sure where to even begin-from how to do it to where do you start on the quilt when you are ready to do it?

At first I couldn't comprehend what a tutorial would look like and then I came across http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=7d863a97041a393a7e38a587fa954d 12;topic=76112.0 There is so much on that crafter org site tho, I have a hard time navigating efficiently. I do like this site and I particularly like that when one puts one's mouse on the topic one can see the first posting. You can't believe the number of times elsewhere where I have visited the same discussion many times as I couldn't recall the title. Hope that makes sense. Personally I can't think of any tutorials I either want or could do at this point. I'm afraid that digital pictures have not come within my scope of knowledge. I tried with a tiny cheap digital camera which I seem to have lost. Such is the problem with miniaturization in today's society. Thank gosh sewing machines haven't gone that route. *~*~*~* Nancy*~*~*~* " I try to take one day at a time - but sometimes several days attack me at once."

Mary, In the past years, I have sent you e-mails with instructions and drawings or traces of patterns for several small items.. Is this something like you are referring to.??. I recall specially my scissors holder and my fat quarter apron and my tip towel baby bib... Sew With Love
