Hi everyone--just have been sitting here trying to browse through all the messages. I have found myself only have a few minutes here and there to actually sit down and spend time reading! We've been trying to go through clothes and everything else in a "decluttering" binge. I cannot believe all the stuff I have accumulated in the past 4 yrs! I had 2 years worth of clothes of Sarah's that I have been trying to get on Ebay in huge lots. I ended up with probably 100 sleepers--God only knows why---and about 30 DVD's we haven't watched the entire time we've been at Ft. Benning out they go too! I had nursing scrubs in my closet that I couldn't wear anymore that have been doing nothing but taking up space! Alot of Elizabeth's things she passed down to me..not that I have a size 4 waist (in my dreams) but alot of her tops which are now too short for her are perfect for me. Just wish I could fit in to her jeans! Fat chance! I cannot BELIEVE I have let things get this disorganized! It's certainly not me! Right now, my whole house is in shambles and we're getting ready for our trip to Arizona in a couple or so weeks. We decided to fly instead of driving (was I insane in thinking we could do that??) I'm really excited about our trip and my FIL emailed me yesterday and said he's reserved rooms for us at the Grand Canyon and also dinner reservations at a popular restaurant for some of the time we're out visiting! I am really looking forward to the trip. It's been since last OCT that we've seen my in-laws so it'll be nice. Last yrs trip wasn't so much fun. Al's grandmother had just passed away and things were busy and tense as well so I'm looking forward to this yrs trip being more relaxing. I have been trying to get back and forth to Alabama to spend time with my mom or she up here. My dad is in Lousianna working and has about 2 more weeks. I think I had mentioned that he was offered a job back into Federal service which is what he was when he retired in 2000 working intermittantly. He's inspecting Federal contractors in one of the area's hit by Katrina. He's working 12 hrs/7 days/week and so far so good. I don't think he'll go back until the fall though since by the time he gets back, we'll only have a couple of more months at Ft. Benning. My mom has done well--she has missed him terribly and said they haven't been apart this long since he was in the Army and that was before I came along. Incidentally she's off at the beach right now with my aunt so she's found plenty to keep her occupied (they are down your way, Chrys.) Yesterday was Al's former commander's change of command and we both went to that and then last night was the company Hail and Farewell. Well, it ended up being more of a Hail than anything. It was unlike any I've been too. His former commander just finished building a house and it was at his new house which is fabulous! They had one of those big blow up jump things brought out and the kids stayed occupied in it. The gifts they gave the outgoing guys were REALLY nice and they even gave a plague to the spouses who'd been involved with the company. He'd gotton a set of battalion colors last Feb so it's been a nice sendoff all and all. All and all, it was very nice. Obviously a busy day, though! So needless to say, I have had very little time to sew and very little time to sit down and read the forum and just wanted to jump in and say hello!! Julie
