yikes everyone, the month is almost gone and i have not got this out yet :nervous: i will take names till next week end on this one

Fossil Ferns is the theme for this month, you must e-mail me your address to <email address removed for privacy> if i do not have it already, and if the e-mail is different from where you are sending make sure i get that too, as i will be using that e-mail to do the forwarding.

this is decentralized, so i will be sending you the names and you will be sending fat q's in 100% cotton that are approx. 18 X 22 to all those on the list.

i will be sending the list out to all involved with mailing date no later than the last week of the month

e-mail me if you have any questions at <email address removed for privacy>

Hey Carman, count me in for sure for the fossil fern swap. I am thinking about the first time, probably 2 years ago, that I drove all of you crazy, trying to figure out JUST WHAT a fossil fern was....I already have mine ordered.

Now, I am such a fan of fossil ferns that I even made a "flannel fossil fern" lap quilt!!!

Carman.. You are doing great and only 5 more pounds to go!!! I am so very proud of you.. Determination!!! You rule, babe

sharsews.. I have been thinking about you!! wondering where you were!!!

Thanks Karen, for admitting you didnt know as well...what the fossil ferns were, that is. With that first swap, I made my MIL a quilt out of 4 inch fossil fern squares and it is her favorite. It ended up being so colorful. Anyways, I TOO have come to love them...

I just placed an online order for my fabric. Hattiesburg MS hasn't got a piece of fossil fern fabric for sale...and it's just possible I am the only one here who knows what fossil fern is...and we know how much I know about it :)

I ordered from a dealer in Mississippi so maybe I'll have it by the middle of next week. I'll get it on its way to you asap.

I'm looking forward to finding these in my mailbox.

What a great mail day today is!!!

Krystal's beautimous fossil fern fat q arrived. I love it!

The order for fossil fern fabric arrived, too! I won't tell you what color it is...that's half the fun of getting it I do believe.

I'm getting ready to put mine in the washer and will hopefully cut it this evening. If all goes well it will be on its way to you soon.

So glad I opted in on this swap!

Absolutely they are wonderful, Lyn. I can't believe I was 54 before I even knew they were "somewhere out there".

I ordered enough extra of what I sent out to actually do something with it. I'm just not sure what.

I sure am glad I didn't sit this one out.

I received Krystal's fall looking green and brown FQ-my favorite season is fall, so I can see me using this in a project pretty quick!

Lyn, your green is also a good choice! I liked the way it looked on my sewing table next to the color I chose. Gets the ideas rolling in my head!

Lyn, the grandbaby is doing well. Can't believe he is 2 months old already. Someone once told me that there was nothing in the world like being a grandma, and I now I know what they meant! He is the sweetest little thing. I am so blessed to get to see him everyday, and even babysit when his mom is at work or school. Lots of time to spoil him!

Your fat quarter was my mail surprise of the day. It is gorgeous! I thank you for it! And you are right...there is nothing better than grandchildren. I've got 6 now with another one on the way.

You enjoy that little one....they grow even quicker than our own babies did.

Sorry Krystal, I cheated this time, I got a really good deal at Heart of Dixie quiltshop online, I ordered the fossil ferns already cut into FQ's. I ordered a set of yellows, pinks and blues. I have three blues left, but they aren't the same colors, one is more turquiosey, one is barely blue at all, lighter than powder blue and the last is a couple shades of pretty blue with some lavenders. I would have traded with ya, I liked your greeny brown..lol :bg:

HI all--my FQ's are packaged up and ready to mail out tomorrow. Sorry for the lateness!
I actually had a bit of a hard time finding Fossil Fern fabric. I ended up finding a store here (a small, family run store that I never knew existed) and that lady told me that FF was discountinued but was going to start being made again sometime in the future. Turns out she had several bundles of FF fat quarters and I was thrilled!
She also does quilting lessons and I loved, loved, loved the store! It is one of those quaint stores that you immediately feel at home in. Not to mention the fact that there is an older cocker spaniel who comes to work with the owner every day and Sarah entertained herself playing with him.
At any rate, my FQ's will be in the mail tomorrow!! Lots of hugs

I got Julie's sunshine fat q today. I needed it something bright today! What a blessing receiving it was. Thank you, Julie.

I've received fat q's from Julie, Debby, Sarah, Lyn and Kristal. They are all beautiful and I can't wait to make something with them. Did anyone get a fat q from Karen? And did everyone receive mine?

I did send my FQ out on Friday the very last day of the month!!! I am so very ashamed of myself.

I have got to let you in on a story... I had those FQs in my van for at least 2 weeks. I do not drive the van every day (due to the gas prices). Anywho, I was driving into work on Friday and noticed that there were 4 envelopes in the back of the van.. NO postage on them :whacky:

Ya see I have age moments...

I had 2-63 cent stamps and put them on 2 envelopes mailed those out on Monday 6/26. Figured I would go to the post office to pick up 4 more stamps.. picked them up.. and put them into my dresser drawer at home. Meanwhile the FQs are still sitting in the back of the van un stamped!!! So Friday, I went to the post office and had the post misses put metered postage on the 4 envelopes..

I am so sorry.. Usually I am way ahead of the swap game!!! This time I ordered from the web. 2 yards of fossil fern. I received something else entirely  I had to go into my stash because the place on the web did not have the fossil fern at all. She was very sorry and all of that. but I have yet to get a refund.

I hope that you will get it by Wednesday!! boo hoo

Wonderful, Karen! Glad to see you.

So glad you saw my post and you are ok. I will look forward to your fat q.

I scrolled backwards and only saw you post early in the month...was afraid something may have come up that had caused you to be MIA.

Yes...I know about those ever-rising gas prices. I stay home a lot more these days.

Hey Karen, it will give me something to look forward to next week. It has happened to everyone before so don't fret. I love getting the swaps, but kind of glad to have a month off, I have lots of summer stuff for finish for the grands. I have to just put elastic in 5 pair of shorts for DGS, then have capris to work on tomorrow... :whacky:

HI Debby--I'm glad you received it and liked it! I ended up buying a big bundle of them and there were so many different pretty colors that it was hard to decide which ones to send out!

Hey Karen, thanks for the gorgeous fossil fern. It was a duplicate, but can't remember who from, but one of the ones that tie the colors nicely. They all go together so well this time, I want to make something really special. Any ideas of what the rest of you have planned for the fossil ferns?

I got beautiful FF from Julie & Karen. Thank you gals! I agree with Debby, they all go together so well -I'm thinking about making a tote out of them but it's definitely in the planning stages.

Thanks everyone! Looking forward to the August swap.

I've received all the FF from everyone.
Thanks for the great colors! There was a variety of colors, and I love every one of them.
A tote sounds like a good idea, Lyn!

A tote is a fantastic idea! I don't want to split these up and this is my first fossil fern swap. So glad I took part in this one.

Karen, yours arrived today and what a wonderful piece! I'd look to go digging through your stash! It was well worth waiting for! Thank you.

This has to be my favorite swap so far.

Big thanks to everyone who shared!

I love all of the FQ's I received from everyone!! Thank you all so much!!
I actually have a pattern that is specific for a FQ bag. I haven't gotton it out of the envelope yet but it looks fun to do!!

Judy--Simplicity makes it and it's from the "Fat Quarter Club." It's pattern # 5606. It includes a 12X18 bag, a 9X16 inch bag, a 7X12 inch bag, a 6X9.5 inch bag, an eyeglass or cellphone case and a purse and also a tissue holder. I love tote bags and I am gonna make one of them (probably out of my fossil fern FQ's) as soon as I get caught up on my other projects!!
