Every time I try to sew with stretchy material, I swear it will be the last time. I'm trying to sew my stretchy gauchos, and everything was going well until I tried to put the wasteband on. It says to stretch the wasteband to fit and pin it, but I'm having trouble stretching and pinning it at the same time and getting it to fit!!! Any suggestions?

Is your waistband a circle already? When I do something like that I divide it into 1/4s and pin those marks at the side seams and centre front and back. Then I do each section, stretching and marking the middle and so forth. Usually works ok for me, good luck

Whenever I have to sew a circle like that I pin the same but after the 1/4s I then do it in 1/8s. I find it easier to stretch and sew when pinned in 1/8s. Good Luck.
