Bren -- The skirt my daughter wants to get married in. It's not really bad. I just have to pinch it in at either side at the waste and let it taper back out to the hips. But what a pain. Five gathered tiers. That's a lot of gathering! Dorothy |

Dorothy, is that a broomstick skirt you're working on? Those 5 tiered gathered layers sound awfully familiar. I'm trying to finish one like that for my own wedding and I think it will never get done on time. If it is broomstick, just shorten the elastic at the waist and let the fullness take care of itself. If it's gathered to a waistband can you just tighten the gathers on the top tier and let the rest of them fall where they will? |
