I thought I'd share some of the items I've made for my dd lately. I haven't been on the boards here lately as we've kicked up remodeling the house, and since I still want to sew I cut back on computer time. I have linked to my reviews at Pattern Review (I hope that is okay with the boards!) - it really is a great site too! When there if you click on my project picture it will give you a bigger picture, some of the items dd didn't feel like modeling. Lizzie McGuire 4255, Dress & Shrug (http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/readreview.pl?readreview=1&reviewnum=13568) Butterick 4123 (http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/readreview.pl?readreview=1&reviewnum=13566) Lizzie McGuire 4568 (http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/readreview.pl?readreview=1&reviewnum=13892) Simplicity 5646 (http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/readreview.pl?readreview=1&reviewnum=14028) I still have to add the 4 swimsuits, plus I have an entire Lizzie McGuire outfit I'm almost done with includes top, blazer, & skirt - just have to finish up the skirt but had to finish up the swimsuit for swimming! Also have 2 PJ's cut out & ready to go for her ! LauraM

Oh lets not even get into those clogs! She loves them, wants to wear them with everything, much my dismay, even with shorts she is a child with her own fashion trends so I try to leave it alone. Believe me if it isn't the clogs it is the flip-flops Her pose for the Simplicity 5646 - she was being goofy - wanted do those jump looking things that she sees on the pattern envelopes She can be pretty goofy - I think it has to be with being the so much younger then everyone else in the house - she can be a total ham ! Thanks! LauraM

So your daughter loves clogs........my youngest had her own sense of style and always put two different color socks together to wear everywhere. When she was six there was a fake fur coat (a friend of mine gave it to her and her daughter had worn it with a prom dress) that she would not take off...even wore it on Easter (with miss matched socks).... I always felt these were the small things in life not to get worried about. If she is happy wearing them, bless her soul. You've raised her right to feel confident about who she is and to find happiness. Patty

Believe me if it isn't the clogs it is the flip-flops That's me too! ........my youngest had her own sense of style and always put two different color socks together to wear everywhere. My oldest daughter has a friend that loves to knit socks for my daughter. Her attention span lasts through one sock. So they have a rule. It has to be the same colors OR the same pattern to be a pair. That way they do look like they match -- sort of. My favorite pair is the same colors and the same pattern -- but one is knee high and the other and anklet. Dorothy |

Great job on all the clothing. I, too, am trying to cut back on my online time because I can spend the good part of an afternoon reading my boards thus no sewing gets done. I love seeing patterns made up by "real" people for "real" kiddos! I happen to have both of the Lizzie patterns. Thanks for sharing - can't wait to see the ones you're still working on! your daughter's is pose is just too cute! I was thinking the same thing.....divattude!! |

Those are great and your daughter certainly seems to like what you've made her! I too like seeing patterns on real people-gives a better perspective. Thanks for sharing.
