Hello all~ I am interested in any suggestions for christening patterns that you really like....not necessarily that you've made mind you. I'm going to do some research on some of the pages in other threads people have posted, but thought someone might have some opinions about particular patterns. Thanks in advance, Brandy~ Oh and I was thinking baby - but if anyone has patterns for older kids that would be helpful as well. Thanks,~ |

I like the patterns that come in the magazine AS&E. Australian smocking and embroidery magazine. They also offer a book, just on christening gowns. http://www.countrybumkin.com.au Nonie |

I have also seen beautiful gowns made from Vogue, McCalls or simplicity patterns. How mush lace and embroidery you want to add would make the gown very personal. Nonie |

I don't have a scanned pic of her. http://home.comcast.net/~beckywsews/images/Sam_Christening_Gown.jpg I had searched for a pattern and these were my favorites. |

Here is a link to a couple of outfits I made for the 2 younger boys, They are both Martha Pullen, one is from "Heirloom Sewing for Jack and Jill" and the other is from one of her magazines. I also made LIttle Vogue 2878 (I think it's out of print now, it was 9 years ago) with all the tucks at the base of the skirt and hand embroidery in white on white on the bodice. Didn't make the coat though. The bonnet pattern was great. http://ca.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jeanettedionne/album?.dir=a58c&.src=ph Jeanette

I have found many resources at sewbaby.com. They also offer a free print catalog. VenusElaine "Always put as much effort into your marriage as you do into your wedding."
