The one thing I don't like about pp is it tends to be a fabric waster I've yet to figure out the key to not wasting fabric on it. Otherwise it's great. I guess English pp is less wasteful. I hope to travel to see my Mom, who lives close to Baton Rouge soon and trade quilt books with her. Have a great day. Gena

Sorry, I forgot the link to a site. I get excited when it comes to spending time with my mom. Gena

Wow, that looks complicated!!! I've only made one and a fourth quilts...What is the advantage of one over the other...should I learn paper piecing???

I would say yes, learn to do it. With pp you can make exact points and do some very small work. I like it and have lots of patterns and really it isn't hard at all. I just found it used more fabric but the blocks are very nice. This site has some free patterns at the bottom that aren't hard. http://www.winnowing.com/patterns.html
I don't mind sending some patterns that aren't copyright if you want.
Maybe starting with the larger blocks would be best. PM if you want the free patterns scanned to you. Happy quilting. Gena

Thanks so much, Gena, for the offer...I just ordered Carol Doak's DVD on paper piecing...I understand that it is as good as taking a class...Hey your Mom is in Baton Rouge?? I live only about 35 minutes away....
P.S. I will keep your offer in mind...I have many "idiot" moments...Paula

Good Morning Paula, Good luck on pp. It can be hard but the blocks are nice. My Mom is in St. Francisville, West Feliciana Parish. She's 7 hours from me. Happy quilting to you. Gena
