It's a good thing I did this with the bargain basement viscose I picked up at Fabricland for $1.50 a metre. Even if I had examined the stuff closely as it was laid out for cutting at the store I would probably have missed the tiny holes scattered through at just past midway on one side. They are so small I felt them, rather than saw them, as I smoothed the fabric over my ironing board. Imagine if I had just gone ahead and cut out my pattern before noticing the holes. Another reason to do such pre-treatment.
