Try: http://www.korkersandmore.com/ They have korker (curley ribbons) directions! We make the Korkers for my 2 y/o granddaughter and they are really very easy! I don't have a good bow maker, but I can check around. I think my Daughter does! |

I think there was a post about this in an earlier thread?? If I remember correctly you take a length of ribbon and twist it flat around a wooden dowel (width depending on how you want your curls to be) then spray it with starch until it is soaked and let dry. Then it will hold its curl and you can put it on the barret part Any one who remembers better help! Stephi

Christi helped me with this one.I'll have to find the website she gave me. Also - you can combine with people on ebay and they'll make coordinating ones if you want. There's quite a few different types. Brandy~ |

That really looks like fun. Thanks for the idea. I often use a small amount of ribbon as trim on an outfit. Adding a coordinating barrette would make a really nice gift set out of it.

Hey, I think the korker bows are too cute. The problem I am having with Sarah's hair is that it is baby fine. The clips I could find here are the regular barrette clips that you find at craft stores which do not stay in her hair (not even the smaller ones.) The alligator clips are good but she can pull them out. I found some really pretty barrettes at a local children's store made onto regular barrettes. I don't know how to describe the barrettes except they are the kind in which the clasp slides underneath a piece of metal at one end of the barrette itself. I looked high and low here for some of the barrettes and finally found some in Arizona while we were out shopping one day. If you have children with fine hair and the regular clasps won't stay in their hair, these types of barrettes are really good. I was told by a friend makes barrettes that using a stitch or two in the ribbon to secure it is really good to do as well as using florist wire. Alot of people will clip the wire once the ribbon is secured to the barrette but some leave it. I have used these instructions as well for bows but until lately haven't had anything to put them on! http://bowdesigns.50webs.com/tuxedo_bow.html Good luck!! Julie
