Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum so I hope I am not re-hashing anything from the past.

The other day, I bought a Singer CE-200. I was trying to install it to my computer, but was getting a message that it could not find the USB port. I followed the directions to the letter by installing the first disk, then the disk with the additional images, and finally AutoPunch. I even tried putting the original disc back in. I then got a message saying that something to the effect that it could not locate the software. :throw: HELP! I don't want to have to take the machine back for another one.

Thanks for listening. I wish Singer had better and more accessable tech support.

That is a fairly common problem. Try using a different Usb port. We have had some that would recognize the rear USB ports but not the ones on front of the computer. If this doesn't work you will need to go into the settings in your computer and configure the ports. I don't know where you are at so don't know who your dealer is but most dealers will take care of this for you if you take it to them.
Bill's son has a website or some kind of help set up for the Futuras. You might try contacting him. His screen name is WGHMCH

What OS do you have? 98SE can be a stinker about USB. Also, if you are using 2K or XP, try putting another USB attachment like a card reader, USB drive in the port. I've had my PC upgraded and the tech has forgotten to turn on the ports! Your USB cable from the machine might be bad. If you have another computer with USB you can see if that will show the "Found new hardware" dialog. Also, did you turn off your AV when you installed?

Thanks for all of your help. I got it up and running last night and did a trial run with one of the stock graphics.
