If anyone could give me an online page that shows how an upper tension assembley is assembled, I'd be grateful. I need one for an older, very basic tension that you'd find on Singers and the like. I took mine apart and I'm having trouble getting it back together just right. Thanks.

Sandra,

There are quite a few different ones, but a very common version that was on the Singers 99/66/185 is shown in a diagram in the files of the Vintage Singer Group on Yahoo. It is in my folder of the Group files. Here is the full URL, but it might just be easier to go in there and look thru the files.

Thank you for trying to help me, but I too could not get the link to open. I probably need to be signed in to Yahoo in order to view the page. I'll give that a try.

"I too could not get the link to open. I probably need to be signed in to Yahoo in order to view the page."

That is correct. You need to "join" the Group on which the page is posted.

If you could give us the brand and model number one of us ought to be able to describe how it goes together. Like Bill said there are a lot of different ones with only slight differences but we would need to know which you have.
Have fun or don't do it, Tom
