So, my in-laws came down for the weekend, and they're having a minor drought up in Dallas (not allowed to water their lawn and such stuff). Well, while they're down here, we get rain.

They leave the morning of the 4th, and I swear that afternoon we got about 6 inches of rain, at least. We got so much, so fast, it all happened in about an hourl; that we had a nice little lake in our backyard.

Check it out

We are getting some nice steady rain right now and had a few thunderstorms yesterday. We watched the fireworks while getting rained on.
We NEED this rain so much. I am glad it is finally here.

Well north Florida may not be getting the rain but south Florida has been getting it's usual summer afternoon rain and then some. We did luck out on the 4th and had a couple of 60 seconds sprinkles but we had a couple of good rains today.

Well if I could find a way I would pipe some of the rain that Eastern Canada has been getting to all of you who need rain. Our lawns and fields are as green as can be!

Last Monday evening around 5:30 pm a section of Ottawa got so much heavy rain in a short time that the streets and basements were flooded. Someone took a video of a street corner where water was coming up out of a manhole 6 feet in the air...the local TV station showed the video on the evening news. It looked like a fountain in the middle of the street! I think yesterday was the only day we haven't had a rain storm in over a week.

We have had rain almost every day for three weeks. If it doesn't rain until fall we still have had our share. Every weekend it rains.

Thanks! I know, they're getting huge. My doctor is not really wanting me to pick them up when possible. Of course that means they now feel like I should hold them all the time.

Well at least you have pictures for your DH to use to know where to put more dirt in the yard and then re-seed!!!! That's a sure way to get rid of the lake. Or you could get some fish and a pump and have a new fish pond!! I'm sure the kids and the neighborhood cats would love that!!!!!

We had a flood here two years ago and it flooded out a fish pond the next block east of us. The people actually posted "LOST FISH" posters around the neighborhood!!!!!! DAHHHHHHHHH even if they where found I don't think they would be swimming anymore!!!!!! We could stand on the porch of the ladys house in back of us (on that same block) and watch the Catfish jumping and swimming around and little kids chasing them in the water.

The lucky thing for us is when they were building the house they saw the drainage problem and actually added extra fill and built up our foundation a foot or so. Our neighbors next door weren't so lucky and had more of their backyard flooded.
Amazingly enough the flood waters have gone back down, they actually did within a day or so. I guess that's the wonderful thing about hot weather drys you up faster.
