I have a Singer CE-200 and I need to figure out how to transfer an image that I have saved as a .bmp and .jpeg. I got the Image and fine tuned it on Adobe Photoshop. Any suggestions?

Ypu need a digitizing software to create an embroidery design from other images not only on the CE-200 but on most embroidery machines, I think. Patsy Patsy

you can but auto punch programs only really do well with simple clip art or coloring book type pictures. You can always hire a digitizer.

It depends on the digitizer. Some charge 10 per 1000 stitches to digitize. I charge by the hour. the digitizer would have to see the image and then give you a quote. Some are simple some are more intense.

CaboBill, Sorry I missed your post. You shouldn't need to hire a digitizer if you have Autopunch. The key thing with Autopunch is you need a clean .wmf image. They are not "simple" clip art. What they are is solid block of color rather than pixels. So many people who haven't taken the time to work with their Autopunch or ones who don't even have it tend to critisize it. It drives me mad. I love what I have accomplished with Autopunch. Click on the link in my signature and you can see some of the things I have done with Autopunch. I have done more but don't have pictures. So anyway you may be able to convert those jpgs and bmps to wmf if you have the right software but they may not work. If you want I can take a look at your images and tell you if I think Autopunch can handle them. Just let me know and I will send you a PM with my e-mail address. So anyway you need to look around at the software you have to see if anything will save as a wmf. My software of choice is Power Point. If you have that then I can talk you through the steps you need to take. If not then search around. I believe there are other things out there but since I have Power Point and it works well for me I don't know what else is out there. Gina

Thanks Pudge99. I finally figured it out. Your stuff looks great. I am having a hard time with the threads. Some of them are staying loose instead of being nice and tight like yours. I am using a pretty heavy duty backing (I forget the name of it). Is there any way to tighten up the stitches? I am also looking at embroidering my logo on the back of my Hawaiian/tropical shirts. What is the best backing to use so that I can be as close to the center as possible? Is there a fusable backing? What about for rayon material? Sorry about the questions, I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my shirts.

When I have trouble with some of my thread being loopy it is normally from forgeting to raise the presser foot when I change thread colors. That tends to throw your tension all out of wack. I have gone so far as to put a label on the top of my macihne that says "Raise the presser foot". I don't know much about rayon fabric and my knowledge of stablizers is almost non-existant. I use used dryer sheets ironed flat most of the time or the cheap stuff I can get at Wal-mart. Also for things that can not be hooped I have had success with Glad Press and Seal. Sorry I can't be more help. Gina

CaboBill there is a good CD with the Futuras that addresses hooping and stabilizing. It is important that you review that CD. I've never used anything but good stabilizers so can't recommend used dryer sheets, press n seal or any of thoe less expensive alternatives to good stabilizers. Patsy Patsy
