My youngest daughter decided she was going to make a quilt for a friend that transfered to another college in the fall. She has joined me in my sewing room..... http://pelkovitch.photosite.com/Album2/Katysewing.html I have passed on my addictions.......quilting and coffee It was fun having her there working on this project while I was at my machine and we could talk. But ou of the clear blue she states, "You were a hippie, weren't you Mom." "Where did you ever get that idea? Not quite." (I'm pretty straight lace. - well, except for the pirate mouth.) "Well, you made your own clothes - that's what hippies did." Thank goodness we have some time together to straighten out our family tree so she doesn't pass on any misnomers. A hippie of all things - I only wished I could have been a hippie, just didn't live the dream. Patty

You haven't changed much Dorothy, my eldest is a modern hippy and off to the big green gatering! http://www.big-green-gathering.com/ - naturally she walks there ( takes about 10 days) Don't know that her laptop battery will alst that long... Mine joined me in the sewing room with an old singer too - I found it had it's ups and downs! love and kisses, Jan

Jan, A green gathering - sounds like something my kids would be at if it were closer. Sharing my toys and not getting to use the iron when I want to is the only down part of my daughter sewing with me. When she was little it was when she would cut a tiny piece of fabric out of the center of a large cut instead of cutting it on the edge like I showed her SEVERAL times. Thank goodness she has progressed since that or I would have put her up on ebay Patty

When Amy was here working on her wedding dress it was fun. But she cut the boning with my good scissors. Dorothy |
