I am procrastinating. I have things I could do. I bought some tshirt patterns when I was down south. Haven't even looked at them i the week I have been home. Also have some fabric for capris that I was going to whip up. If all else failed I could do the pile of mending but instead I am surfing the web, watching the boob tube, doing laundry and sorta cleaning house.

Anybody else just want to waste time.

Me too. Haven't done much of anything today. Changed the sheets, did 2 loads of laundry and then quit. It's too hot to do much around here right now except nap on the couch and watch tv.

I hope you can get to back to sewing soon. I haven't sewn anything since October of last year. I had been using every excuse in the book not to sew anything; dishes, laundry, I'm tired (translates into "I'm too lazy to dig everything out), it's cold, it's hot. I was spending more time in front of the computer vicariously sewing through everyone else. I happened upon some shirred fabric at JoAnn and just happened to have a 50% off coupon. I came home, discarded UFOs that were taunting me and started to make a sundress for my daughter. It felt GREAT!!!!!! :bg: :bg: The dishes are piling up and we've had take-out for dinner, everywhere else is somewhat messy, and I gave myself an internet time limit,and......... I finally did some sewing.

I feel you on the heat and just not feeling the sewing thing. I really need to get started on nursery stuff and maternity shirts. I may end up buying them, I have just been so sick and yucky I cant bring out the sewing machine right now.

But I guess baby will come if I feel good or not, LOL!!

Stephi, hope you are feeling better soon! My daughter still has bouts of "morning" sickness-real touchy about what she can eat and she's 5 months along-I told her that just means her next one will be a piece of cake. I hope.

do you know what you are having yet?

We found out last week she is having a girl. She and the boyfriend are having to do some "readjustment thinking".....they were (as was I ) so sure that baby was a boy! So...we've made a point of baby shopping each week and picking up something for the baby that is girly. Hopefully that will help all of us adjust!

Yeah, that whole "next pregnancy will be easier" thing...... Technically speaking, yes this one is easier, only one baby, but my morning sickness has stuck around much longer.

As for sewing maternity clothes, plan and cut them for later in the pregnancy, so maybe add an extra little bit in the seams. That's when you'll really want those new clothes, and it'll be a nice pick me up. Just make sure you get them done in time. I had one dress which I never finished hemming (of course by the time I'd finished sewing it, while yes it could fit over my belly, it wasn't super comfortable). But, hey it should fit the whole pregnancy this time, it didn't fit me at 7 month pregnant with twins..... If I'm that big again I'll shoot myself, probably not really. But, I'll think about it.

That is so exciting about having a girl! Oh, they're so much more fun to sew for. I haven't sewn for my boys much (they outgrow it too fast), but I've sewn lots more for my niece than for my nephew.

Ticia, who finds out in 1 week and 4 days if this one is a boy or a girl, keep fingers crossed for pink.

Well this pregnancy has definetly been different from my Ds. I found out after sitting in the emergency room friday night in SEVERE pain that I have two good sized cyst on my left ovary...this was actually good news since my doc said it may be an ectopic pregnancy and to rush to the emergency room. Bad news is that too much activity causes this pain and tylenol is just not strong enough to make it go away

The morning sickness is from 10am to 2pm. so if I want to eat I have to do it early then late, LOL. I was non stop sick with my D, so I am thinking this is a boy. My hubbie really wants a boy, but I think I would like another girl

Either way doesnt really matter as long as thier are ten, ten, two and two

Well, I agree with that Stephi......10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 hands, 2 feet, 2 eyes, 2 ears. LOL. As long as it's healthy it doesn't matter what it is.

It is indeed more fun to sew for a little girl and at least I know my daughter will put "homemade" clothes on her child-my first dil is just getting around to appreciating the fact that I can at least make a bunch fo shorts and pants for her boys and my other dil only puts something on her daughter I made if she, herself, thinks it's cute. So...my way around that is to make my dgd stuff with horses on it as she's very into horses these days and will wear anything with a horse on it! LOL But, I must admit I don't sew as much for dgd as I'd like to mostly because I never know if it will be worn or not.

Ticia & Stephi, keeping my fingers crossed for a girl for you!

Thats funny, I have a horse and have been in love with them since I was 3. My horse is actually pregnant and due the month after me :-) I make my niece everything with horse prints on it. Last thing I made her was a skirt/pantloon with a matching sun hat. It had green white and black horses all over it. My cousin is into horses and takes lessons from a friend of mine so I keep meaning to make her some shorts or some little goody but I just havent had time or really felt like it.

Congrats on the girl..Keeping my fingers crossed!!
