Hi everyone, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I just recently began learning how to sew and was thrilled to discover this forum! I've learned so much already just from reading about your experiences and advice. My mother and many of my aunts are accomplished seamstresses/quilters and it looked like so much fun that I just had to give it a shot. Mom showed me how to sew when I was a child, and again later when she was my Home Ec. teacher in high school, but I never really kept up with it. I have a very basic Brother machine (model number escapes me) and so far, I love it!! This weekend, I made a pair of shorts for my 4(almost 5) year old DD and they turned out pretty well. I just need to make the elastic casing on the waistband and hem the bottoms and they are done! I look forward to chatting with you all! |

I was new too, not to long ago. You will find lots of great advice, tips, and helpful people who will fast become your friends. I haven't missed a day on this board since I found it! Welcome!
