Hello, I am new to sewing, I want to know if a rolled edge could be done on a sewing machine and if so how? I don't have a serger. I am just learning how to use a sewing machine and would love to do rolled edge on my gauze fabric. Please help! Thanks,

Hope this helps,it take a little practice but makes a nice edge.
Roll and whip fabric edge by setting your machine on a zig zag with a stitch width of 4.4 and length to 0.6.
The sewing machine should clear the fabric as the needle swings to the right and goes into the fabric as the needle swings left.
You may have to adjust the width and length of your stitches depending on your machine type, just remember to use a wide zig zag stitch and a short stitch length.

With this stitch you do not need a special foot. I would sew 1/8 to1/4 inch from the edge of the fabric. When the stitch is done properly it will just roll up.This technique works best for thin fabrics,it is commonly used in heirloom sewing. If your gauze is thin it should work without too much stretching. You just have to try it.Let me know how it works for you!
