Well at least for this year. The school board voted yesterday to turn down all bids for privatization of food service. They are now taking new bids for management only of the dept. The newspaper article said all employees will be called back for fall. That means trainings in August & no date so I still can't make any summer plans. If I don't hear soon I will try to call next week.

I should be safe until next spring. They are talking about consolidating schools again & I have 1 of the lowest seniorities so I could get bumped. But I am in 1 of the poorest neighborhoods in town & most people won't work there. What they don't know is it is an easier job because 95% of the kids are on the federal food program so I don't have to collect money for breakfast or lunches very often. most of them have to do collections & send bills everyday. Well I am looking foward to going back we got used to the money & I would have had to look somewhere else.

Barb, You have 6 children, your "real" job is always safe :bg:

Good luck, hope you keep that easy way of going.

The bad news is I won't be home to sew in the fall. I am going to have to do my sewing at night & on weekends like everyone else.
