Welcome to the boards! I tend to use patterns from the regular pattern makers-Butterick, McCalls, etc. Kwick Sew is good too for kids. Ottobre Magazine has quite a few patterns that are really great too but you need to order on-line. I believe it's Wooly Thread that sells them? Someone will be along with the right website for you! I have used Kwik Sew and Burda mostly for boys, but I really really like Ottobre. I don't get a subscription but I just order directly from them and get backorders with patterns that I like, you can look at whats in the books on the ottobre website.

Hi, and Welcome! I personally like McCall's patterns. I have a young grandson and found a pattern for a camp type shirt and shorts that I like. Like some of the others here, I tend to use the patterns from the large companies. |

Welcome, welcome~ While I like other patterns a little better - since you haven't made anything before I prefer Simplicity - just because they ecplain every little thing (they even have ones for dummies which are great if you really aren't a sewer). They're just helpful because they are made to be simply read - if you are comfortable reading a pattern the vogue/butterick/mccall's website is all connected - just google it. I like Burda for boys. I like Ottobre quite abit but the way the patterns are written can be a little visually overwhelming. Have luck and post pics - everybody loves to see the pics!!!! B~ |
