I am a complete newbie to machine embroidery. I have a Brother SE270D which I bought from Overstock.com. I had no choice but to buy it over the net. The town where we live is really tiny town a long way from a city. I am doing my usual research and am wondering about a Dakota Sizer or an Amazing Box. Are these really necessary. I am leaning toward the sizer because so many designs I like are too big for the 4"x4" hoop the machine takes. I am not sure what I will be embroidering but I plan to have a whole bunch of fun doing it. Any help would be appreciated. |

I believe that you can get a free sizer from Wilcom on the internet...check into it. If you can't find it I'll dig and see if I can find the links.

I bought my SE 270D from Overstock.com, too, and just LOVE it! I was new to machine embroidery, and have only had it 3 months, but I've sewed, and embroidered a LOT of things with it. It does beautiful work! To transfer designs from your computer to your 270D, I recommend PED Basic. It comes with the software and a re-writable card to put the designs on to use in your machine. It's the most economical way I've found...a lot cheaper than Amazing Box! Walmart.com sells it for $129 and change. You can resize the designs with that to, in a limited way. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2171274 |
