A friend quilter of mine is looking for a car-themed quilt and quilt ideas for her baby grandson. Applique or blocks. Anyone know of anything good? I did a Google search with no luck!

Thank you!

I've been thinking about this. I saw a picture of a car quilt in a magazine recently but I just can't seem to remember where.

She could get a simple shape for a car from a basic colouring book and use it for an applique pattern. She could make blocks with the cars appliquéd on in different directions and alternate the blocks. Or another idea would be to make rows of cars going in one direction like they are on a road. Adding traffic signs, like stop and yields, would be cute too.

Just some ideas.

I agree with Judy, making an applique with the cars going down a road would be adorable!

Check out the quiltmaking for kids magazines, I know one of them has a car quilt in it. I just don't know which one. I'll see if I can find mine with the cars.
