BUGS is the theme for this month, you must e-mail me your address to <email address removed for privacy> if i do not have it already, and if the e-mail is different from where you are sending make sure i get that too, as i will be using that e-mail to do the forwarding.

this is decentralized, so i will be sending you the names and you will be sending fat q's in 100% cotton that are approx. 18 X 22 to all those on the list.

i will be sending the list out to all involved by the 2nd August with mailing date no later than the last week of the month

e-mail me if you have any questions at <email address removed for privacy>

Carmen,

I was thinking of doing the bug swap, but I haven't found a fabric that is nice enough to send (meaning, I sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end.) If I see something before the deadline, I will let you know. About how many people are on a list so I know how much to buy?

Ps. Great job at getting to your weight goal

So......are you going to be in on August Judy?

Patty22, Neither did I...I saw an ad in the back of my new Quiltmaker magazine & had to check it out. I was thinking about joining as I want to make a jar quilt for one of my nephews for Xmas. But when I looked thru my stash, I found 12 buggy FQs and that's not counting my butterfly fabrics. So I think I've got enough for now.

What exactly is considered "bugs"? Are butterflies in this too? or just the 6 & 8 legged varieties?

Finally found a good bug fabric. There is just no selection of bug fabrics this year. I almost got one that was a flannel because it was really cute, but at the last minute decided not to.

saw lots of butterflies but very little other species.

I agree, it was hard this year to find a lot of variety in bugs but that just makes the search more fun.

I was thrilled when I found mine....
I love butterflies but wanted to send out something less plentiful.
And search I did.

In my search I looked for Moda Marbles locally..........

I came up greatly lacking. There are none!

What a disappointment.

Ordering online is okay...but I love to feel the fabric before I buy it.

7 quilt stores! Wow what a luxury. We have none. We have Hancock Fabric, good old Wally World and Hobby Lobby. Pickings were slim for this swap at all of them.

Glad my bees made it to your house.

I'm with you, Judy, I like to feel the fabric first altho I have ordered online a few times and not been disappointed.

Now that Craftmart here is out of business I've really had to search for fabric but I did find one quilt shop that I like-doesn't have the "family" feel Craftmart did but it will work. Found my fabric for this swap as well as picked up some Moda marbles there for next month. I still do most of my shopping at Joann's, Hancock's and Wally World. There are more quilt shops around my area but they aren't "close" and the time it takes to go and check them out isn't always worth it so I keep a list and if I'm in the neighborhood I'll look, otherwise I made do with what I can find closer to home.

If I ever find a place I love, I'll shop at it no matter where it is!

yes we do feel lucky around here with the shops. we do have joanns and wally world to. i did find my fabric and the shop was having 20% off today, so i cut into my budget and ended up spending $80.was a little suprised but i didn't put anything back. so will get my fabric ready to mail.

My mailing the FQ saga:

So, this morning I go to get the fabric, which sadly I hadn't prewashed like I intended, but can't find it anywhere. Now, I start thinking all sorts of dark thoughts about my husband and cleaning in general. Finally, I decide that I'll have to go back by Joann's to get more, which I was not excited about because I already had my week planned out to go by there on Friday (having lunch with my husband, and his work is over there, it's a 20 minute drive).
Well, I get the kids all ready and start figuring everything out of how I'm going to manage all this. But, first I take one last look around for the fabric, and find it under a pile of things I had put on my cutting table (at which point I start grumbling to myself). Then I start cutting everything up, and they shorted me on my fabric. It's about 2 inches too short, so I grab some bug fabric from the swap last year.
Finally, got it all done and all of that, and are very happy to say my fabric is mailed out.

And I have received from: Liz, Lyn, Judy, and another one that is black with bees, and caterpillars, and lady bugs (sorry, I threw away the envelope before I wrote down who it was from).

I love all of my fabrics, they are absolutely adorable.

Hi all, my little "buggies" will go out in the mail tomorrow am!! I also wanted to say thank you to Lyn, Judy, Terry and Liz for the "buggies" I received! It's perfect timing b/c I'm working on my oldest daughter's quilt and this fabric is going to be used on it!! She will love it! The colors are just perfect!! I hope you all like the fabric you get from me!!
Lyn--I have been watching the news today and saw about the flooding in Phoenix..are you guys OK?
Judy--once again, thank you for the words in the FQ baggie--I add your cards to my collage on my bathroom mirror. I read them everyday when I am getting dressed and it really makes the day start out perfectly! :)

Yes, we had some flooding-still flooded in some areas but everyone is OK. This happens frequently when we get a lot of rain-the ground is so hard that the water doesn't soak in like in other areas of the country. Mostly northern part of the city got hit but the clouds were ominous yesterday! Nice thing was it cooled things down enough to open the windows and air out my place last night for a few hours!

Drives me crazy to watch people on the news try and drive through the flooded roads and washes though! they always get stuck-there have been so many that we have a "stupid motorist" law where if they need rescued they get to pay for it and it's not cheap-plus they get fined by the city on top of it!

Julie, how are you feeling these days?

I got great bugs from Liz & Ticia. They are great!

Hey Liz, how about bug in a jar quilt? Just google jar quilts and you'll find all kinds of patterns.

It is a cute pattern isn't it? I think between this swap and the one last year I have enough bug variety to make one myself-probably for my youngest grandson-we'll see.

I got another FQ in the mail yesterday, but threw away the envelope - it's an adorable green with ladybugs! It has been so much fun finding these in my mail - makes receiving bills a little easier to take.... okay, maybe not, but I enjoy getting fun things in the mail! lol

I got darling ladybugs from both Pat and Julie today. That rounds this swap out for me. It's been a great one. Thank you everyone.

Cute ladybugs from Julie & Pat today. BCSpaMom, Pat sent me some ladybugs on green so maybe that's who you received from? Just missing Brandy's, then I'm done. Thanks ladies.

Judy, did you receive from Brandy (mrs.snuggly -I think)? I don't remember seeing you list her name and I haven't gotten anything from her and then I got to thinking I hadn't seen her posting at all-I know she was on my list because I'm sitting here looking at it. Anyone heard from her? Hoping she's ok!

Come to think of it...I haven't heard from Brandy either. I lost track
of my address list and had completely forgotten she was in on this swap.
I hope she is ok. And how wonderful it will be to find one more
fat q if she is just running late!

Carman, have you heard anything? Not worried about the FQ but worried about Brandy herself-we all run into problems at times, hope everything is ok.
