Hello,
Just thought I would try to show everyone some of my stuff I have sewn and made. Some pictures are kinda blurry but you can tell what they are.

Just click on the first pic and it will enlarge.
I hope this works.

Thanks for the pictures - I love looking at other peoples stuff, it sparks off all sorts of ideas.
Looking at your purses with the tubing handles. It looks like you made something like a buttonhole and tied a knot in the ribbon to secure it so it doesn't go through the hole, slide the ribbon through the tubing and secure the ribbon at the other end in the same way. Is that what you did? If not, how did you secure the handles - I think they are great and would love to give something like that a go.
love and kisses, Jan

Hi Jan,
For the purse with tubing handles I just did the purse part first. Then pulled my ribbon thru the tubbing....that was fun..LOL. (to make the ribbon pulling easier here's what I used: A very long upholstery needle,(I got at wal-mart) put small tape around the ribbon end, then take some thread (had to use cross stitch thread, it didn't break as bad)and pull thru the tape part and tie on needle hole of upholstery needle, I cut the tubing alittle shorter than the long needle...that way once thru I could pull the needle out the other end with my fingers. Leave the ribbon longer than the tubing on each side. I think I had about 1 yd each for each handle and that left plenty hanging out.) On the outside of the purse I marked a small mark where I wanted my handles. Then line up the tubing ends and sew across the ribbon hanging out as close to the tubing as you can. Once done I take the ribbon and tie a not and cut the ends shorter. I really hope this make some kinda sense. I don't do buttonholes good at all........ So I had to sit and think and think on how I could do it. Finally I just tried it. Believe me when I say I have my seam ripper at my side at all times... :dave:

Loved the outfits. My grands always have me make them things and those are cute for the summer. What pattern did you use for the clam diggers and the halters? Very Cute
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Great job on all you made! Thanks for sharing. I love looking at what other people have made. I especially like the purse as I'm partial to frogs.

Motherinlaw-
The pattern I did for the halters were from NEW LOOK #6195 (is a dress pattern but I just cut it off short for a top.) For the pants I just found a pattern for capri's and then added a cuff at the bottom.
As for the apron top I just cut a front piece and then made straps.

I love the tubing handles. OMG I can't wait to try them!! The outfits are adorable as well. I really liked the hawaii-ish one with the clam diggers.

Very nice work. I wish I had granddaughters to sew for. The boys are fun but boring making the same thing over & over. I have to make gifts to get to sew for girls other than my 14YO & she won't wear frilly anymore.
