http://www.petloss.com/mbphotos2/bobc.jpg This is my boy Bob. I've had a hard time getting his picture to come up. Since I lost him last yr, it's been very hard. I know you think I'm crazy (thats Ok. I think you're all nuts too.) But Bob was my best friend, my baby, my buddy. I belong to www.petloss.com, where we pour our hearts out and cry on the computer for our lost furries/feathers. I don't want to take up too much of Miss Marys bandwidth, so I'll post other pictures of my other babies another time... thanks, Kath ( Mom to spoiled baby ferrets) Chrys

Kath, I don't think you are crazy. I understand how sad it is to lose a pet that you love so much. Before I had my (human) babies, I had a cat that wound up with cancer and we tried for a year to keep him comfortable with chemo and in the end it was so sad for us to say goodbye. It was 6 years ago now and still brings tears to me. Jen |

Bob looks like he was a real sweetie. It's okay to miss him Kath. Our little Mercy Jane sits on the beside table on my dh's side of the bed. He can't bring himself to get rid of her yet and it's been almost 4 years since we had to have her put to sleep. However, we do have Miss Sophie who is nothing but a spoiled brat that thinks dh and I maintain a house and cars strictly for her comfort and pleasure. Patsy Patsy

It is so hard to lose a pet. Kath, your Bob was a real cutie and call me crazy too because just looking at the picture makes me want to give him a hug. My bird does cute things and I would like to give him a hug but haven't figured that one out yet. I really miss my cat that was my buddy for 17 years. Luv2sew

Thank you all... he was a cuddle bug and LOVED everyone. He gave great smooches. Everywhere we took Bob people would say, He looks just like his name....and of course he loved the attention. The 4 I have now are rotten to the very core. Jack the baby...tried to hide me under the coffee table today. He grabbed my hand and off he (tried) to go...I don't really fit under the tables.. A dog followed my husband home today. (my husband walks for exercise around the block for about an hr.) Nice dog, but we had to call animal control he wouldn't leave. He was a nice dog...well cared for, NO tags. Hopefully he was chipped.... Chrys

Dorothy: Mercy Jane was cremated and her ashes are sealed in a very nice little metal urn like container from the Pet Cemetery. It looks like a decorative metal tin. We couldn't think of anywhere we wanted to bury the container when the Vet's office gave it to us so when we brought it home dh just sat it on his night stand and that's where its been ever since. It really doesn't bother any one or anything, it just sits there. I forget it's there until I go to dust. Patsy Patsy

Oh, Kath, he was darling!! And sounds like he had an awesome personality...My youngest sister and Dh have no children; but adore their Boxers...Her dogs have had hip surgeries; and she had to go home at lunch to give heart medicine; interviewed pet sitters before they were allowed to take care of her babies... She just lost one that was 13 or 14 yrs old and she is grieving...So, like Dorothy said, you may be crazy but not because you miss Bob... |

Kath: You should take your pictures of Bob, scan them onto fabric and put them into a quilt. I have the neck scarves that the groomer always put on Mercy when we took her for grooming and I'm going to make a little quilt for our four legged baby girl Sophie out of them. Patsy Patsy

Kath--I don't think you're crazy at all and I think the picture is precious! I remember when we had to put my childhood dog (a brittany spaniel-Mitzi) down. It was a trauma. She was part of our family. I have a mix rescue dog now, Lucky and he is like my baby as well! Thank you for sharing your picture! Lots of hugs

Patsy I am glad you calrified on that. My mom debated having her Doxie stuffed for some time...Only problem (other than its somewhat morbid) is that by time she passed she had no hair, her eyes stuck out of her head and her teeth where so yellow and mangled I would hate for anyone to have run into her at night. Yikes! I lost my little boy doxie (waldo) about 3 years ago and I miss him soo much. I get the occasional visit from his son (also waldo) and it hurts because he is soo much like his dad. My boy died of a masive heart attack brought on by a thunderstorm at the age of 6. He had medicine but no one was home and I think that really freaked him out. So yes its ok to cry and be sad Stephi

He looks quite like a sable we had named Bongo. Daughter was heartbroken when she lost him. She has a few refugees from a shelter, and a lot of them have problems. She finally got 2 males from a private breeder. These things are huge! But adorable. I share my sewing room with 5 ferrets and 3 cats! Here is a photo. http://home.pcisys.net/~dagarr/z%20and%20m.jpg Weezy |

Oh man...are they cute or what !!! Thank you so much for the pic.... They look like bears...so sweet...( I love ferrets of all kinds....If I could I'd have more than 4...I don't have the room or the time...) [[[ ]]] Kath btw we had one that was 2 ft long and over 5 lbs...he was a Marshall Farms, which is unheard of for a 'farm' ferret. I'd like to get a private bred one, but there aren't any near us....cause they are bigger and live longer/healthier lives. But I think I give 'mine' a good home... Chrys

Shan just lucked out with these two. Ferret Rescue knew of a breeder just starting. She has adopted quite a few from the rescue. Currently 2 are still with us. She also adopted a Triple F ferret that had major problems. He was young enough to recover and he's the 24 hour ferret. Instant on. She had a MF ferret about as long and heavy as yours - he was sick and didn't make it. She kept his cagemate who was a deaf Blaze. (he didn't know it) Weezy |

We got our first ferret when we lived in Co Springs. He was THE best baby. We have a DEW rescue thats deaf. I think he knows, cause he watches your face when you talk. His cage mate Piper came with and shes a flirt. (she watches her reflection in shiny objects. She's enamored of her 'pinkness' (her belly...shes white/silver with THE most beautiful dark eyes), she rolls over to show you her belly and you MUST adimre it, if not she pouts. Ferrets...their personalities are something....and to watch them play...Thats why they're like chips, you can't have just one... Kath Chrys

They do grow on you! Our deaf Blaze, Pepe, learned to pull the strings on toys that vibrated. A lot of cat toys do this. Small world - we are in the Springs also. Weezy |

We got one of those toys for the ferrets, it's a spotted spider. Mikey (the deaf kid) LOVES it. He hides it so no one else will play with it.... My husband was in the AF. We lived in the Springs from 88-91..I used to work for Marriot (in the Current buildings, all three...they moved me a lot). My husband was at Falcon. ( I was actually born in CO, but my parents moved when I was 6 mnths old. Both my parents were born in CO...my Dads family is from Walsenburg.) Chrys

Chrys, Bob was a real cutie!!! I've never ever seen a ferret, so that was my first one, and he was definitely a keeper!! Funny how those little critters can steal our hearts away.

Thanks...and he was Canadian too A pet shop in Pensacola had him...he was brought in with 2 adult ferrets, who were ill. I didn't know until two wks later how ill. Bob got it and gave it to my older two ferrets. I almost lost all 3 to a virus. Learned the hard way about all ferrets diseases, quirks, you name it...(the people who 'owned' the pet shop lost it....they were nasty...thats why I took Bob. He was underweight, so small and thin you could feel all his bones and his heart in your hands....he could barely walk.) I got him home, to the vet. Got him eating GOOD ferret food. He was happy and healthy(except for the virus) till 13 days before he died. You have to get out to pet shops more...Ferrets are everywhere. I've had ferrets for 16 yrs now. They are cute...ornery...silly....they give kisses, they cuddle...they have favorite parents. Right now Jack is my baby, Sam is my big baby, Piper is my girly baby and Mikey is my husbands baby. It just about kills me when they die. But I can't be without a furry...I grew up with dogs, but here in FL theres so many bugs. (I don't care for cats all that much, not to live with anyway...I think they're pretty) So ferrets are IT ! Thank you all for admiring my doodle. Chrys

I had a ferret once and I really liked him, but he kept getting into things and since I worked all day it was difficult. I ended up giving him to someone who had more time for him and he's happy. Now I have a 5 yr old Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix named Rocky. He's my baby. DD has a Burmese Python that she loves. She had a Ball python named Jaki that was stolen, she was heartbroken. Jaki was a trip! She had such a personality and loved to escape from her tank! Yes, snakes also have personalities! All our babies are special to each of us whether they are ferrets or dogs or cats or snakes or birds, they are all close to our hearts and we suffer when we lose them. No, Kath, you're no more crazy than the rest of us! Here is a link to our babies, we don't have the big iguana (she was stolen also) or the little iguana (he was still too wild and we let him go where he came from). http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/keljo60/album?.dir=/4aa7re2&.src=ph Kelly
