I am thinking of buying the Brother se270d machine. I was wondering if anyone had it and if you really liked it. Any pro's and con's about it.
I also had the Singer Futura ce-100 in mind....did alittle research and most people said it would stop in the middle of doing a design....? If anyone could give me pros and cons on this one too, I am torn between those two...I am a stay at home mom so there's a budget and both are around $500 and that works for me. I am leaning towards the brother so any info on it would really help me.
Thanks so much....

Debra that's not true about the CE 100. When the first ones were sold, that was true but Singer did an update on the software that had to be downloaded into your Singer softerware to correct the problem but I understand the machines being sold now have the updated software with them. The CE 100s being sold now do not have that glitch in them. I have a CE 100 and it embroiders anything and everything up to and including 5 x 7 designs. However, you do have to have a computer dedicated to the CE 100 for using the embroidery side of it. If you do have a computer that you can hook the CE 100 too, you don't have to have any additional conversion software (i.e., Amazing Box, etc.) as all of your designs are stored directly in the computer and transmitted to the CE 100 when you are ready to embroider. Also, the CE 100 can sew most all of the embroidery formats out there without any conversion needed.

Thanks Patsy,
Thanks for the info. I am so confused on what to get. I liked that the Singer did do bigger designs. I may be asking more ?'s later if that is okay about the machine....

I agree with Patsy. I have sold dozens and dozens of CE-100s and can only remember 2 with problems. Neither of those was an electronic problem. That machine has proven to be very good for the price. (I am not a "Singer person" it is just one of the brands we carry). The CE-200's record is not as good and we really can't understand why.
I have recently quit stocking the 100 in anticipation of Pfaff's 300 which we should have anyday now. It is only slightly higher priced and well worth the difference in price. You might want to wait a few days and consider it.
Have fun or don't do it, Tom
