Finished these last week. They were supposed to be smocked, but embroidered them instead. Bought a used pattern, and of course these pieces were missing.
Found another smocking pattern that was similar and went by guess and by golly. Didn't turn out too badly. I just wish that if people donate patterns they would donate the whole thing. If they don't have all the pattern, then toss it.

It wont me look either. Is your cat wearing dentures?? Is that even your cat...I guess it could be a generic avatar thing.

Yes, that's my cat. No, she is not wearing dentures. She is a Snowshoe and they don't have standards about white on the face. She happens to have a "got milk?" mustache. Her name is Alpha Orionis.

I think I finally got the pix to go public. I've never used Yahoo b4.

BTW - there were also no INSTRUCTIONS for this dress.

Very cute! Great job, especially for having missing pieces and no instructions! Thanks for sharing.

(and your cat is really cute too!)

They are very cute. I remember making things like that for my granddaughter. At that age she'd wear anything I made - at 15 it's another story. She doesn't even like the embroidery and bling on her jeans.

I don't know how a lot of you with toddlers feel about the new fashions, but I don't like a lot of them. I don't think I'd want my toddler looking like a pocket teenager. They grow up too darn fast anyway.
A lot of this type of stuff can be applied to nightgowns. I have Kwiksew's Lingerie book and use the nightgown pattern as my daughter seems to live in the things!

What cuties. You did very well with what you had. They look so feminine and dainty, light and airy....oh, and vintage! Indeed the detailing would look great for an older person's nightwear.

Those are so sweet! Very feminine. I agree with you on some of the patterns for little ones, even in the stores some of the outfits are trashy looking for a toddler. What are designers thinking???

Very sweet dresses, so feminine! Great job especially since you didn't have directions or all the pattern pieces!

The clothing for kids is terrible these days. I don't think my 3 year old granddaughter needs to be running around in the body showing trashy looking outfits that are out right now...I still don't like the way teens wear their pants/skirts just barely above the pubic bone! I'm not a prude by any means but let's not exploit our kids.....you wonder who the designers think they are designing for.

My D lives in a dress that I recieved from Sue when she cleaned that truck load out. Its one of those vintage patterns that is just a simple dress with a pleat in front at the neck line. She loves them so far I have a purple flowery one, 2 doras, a clifford(which she has outgrown), and a rainbow tie die kinda one. She is always picking up material at walmart (I let her choos off the dollar rack) saying "mommy can you make me another bell dress" she thought she looked like a bell in it because it flares when she twirls.

Her grandmother will buy her the occasional risky outfit but I only put them on her when we arent going anywhere, LOL!!

Even more disturbing is my Mom and I were out looking at infant clothes and there was this shirt that was a little too risque for my tastes. I really don't see why my baby girl would need to look like she's trying to get picked up by some guy. Scary......

She's cute! Is she a Birman? She looks like she might be long-haired. If not, maybe she's a Snowshoe, too.

Cute dresses Weezy. Did you use a ruffler or a gathering/shirring foot? They are wonderful presser feet to have.
Happy Stitching!

Used a shirring foot on doubled fabric. I have a ruffler, but prefer the ruffler for mor precise ruffles or pleats.
