In case any of you out there in sewing land wondered what kind of current vehicle Santa drives in the "off" season, I'm here to tell you it is a Mini Cooper.

Santa came for a visit on Friday for Coffee. She (yes, SHE) brought a bag of fabric. :) My son is moving to NYCity for a new job, so I'm going to be making some pillows out of a beautiful graphic white and black art deco (empire state building) fabric Santa brought to give him as a new apartment warming present.

Santa also sews and was wearing a blouse she had made. I was disappointed not to see the ladies on the linen skirt, but maybe on another visit. She had her Vogue Fabric samples with her and she has some great new fabrics picked out for the fall.

It is so much fun to talk to someone in person that loves to sew!

Evidently there are other Santas on the board as this Santa was talking about a Santa in the UK that sent her doggie a knitted sweater. Too funny. I talked about wanting to see the knitted sexual organs.

What a nice day; thanks Dorothy.

Glad to hear Santa is alive and well - she sent me a fab bag with those ladies on - I am afraid there are only female organs( no male - seemed a bit too graphic)...and I gave them all away before taking photos.... but the guts live on!

Jan, I LOVE YOUR ORGANS :dave:

I love my kids dearly, but all summer it feels as though I have been running a bed and breakfast. Having Dorothy visit was like a gift to my sewing spirit....Dorothy is a VERY funny person and just fun to be with.

Oh for crying out loud.
I think we found an apartment in High Acres (Don't anyone say it!!!). On Onondaga Hill.
That's if we pass their background and credit check. Credit is no problem and background -- well it shouldn't be, I hope, no it shouldn't be.....I hope.
It's a complex, but with lots of green space. Not exactly what I wanted, but will do. I'll have a great sewing room. Wally said the other bedroom is nice but you know, I didn't even look at it. Got stuck mapping out the sewing room.
There is a pool, club house, library, guest rooms you can rent for $50 a night if you want to have company you don't want staying with you. HUH?? Oh, Wally's sisters!
We talked to some people there and they were all so happy with the place and perfect that, Patty, if I get glassy-eyed, speak in clipped sentences or start praising the lord or something could arrange an intervention.

Perhaps I should mention that Santa doesn't want cookies anymore. Santa wants poppy seed bread!!
Patty makes it and it is GOOD! I brought a loaf home and my husband gobbled it down.
Also I will tell you Patty makes beautiful quilts.

Well Dorothy, I'll be sure to do some baking before I come and help you arrange your sewing room. I'll bring Cinnamon Rolls (family likes them better than the Poppy Seed, but the Poppy Seed is my favorite because it brings back fuzzy memories of my aunt.)

I'm just glad that you found a place to live that you like; Onondaga Hill is very nice because it's close to everything without being in the thick of Syracuse.

Back to the kitchen to freeze pesto.......

Santa? I havent seen sants since I was about 6yo!! If santa comes to my house I would make her warm apple cobbler with a big scoop of vanilla icecream. Or one of my hand made chocolate bowls with a scoop of vanilla icecream and strawberries on top.

hehehehe!

But the burning question is - did Lucy like the apartment - and will she be able to play football?

Those cinnamon rolls sound good Patty - yum!
Stephi we had apple and plum crumble with ice cream for dinner tonight, I was feeling the need for crumble...and heere is me hoping to lose a few pounds. Portion control, that's what we need!

Dorothy - I am sure you know Santa is an anagram of Satan? I can't imagine you "glassy-eyed, speaking in clipped sentences or start praising the lord" - I am sure you will pass the background check and so on - unless there are dark hidden secrets that you haven't told us about - like not pressing your undies or wearing them on your head in public (something my nephew was prone to doing - he hated getting himself dressed so would put the clothes in the wrong place). Not Pre Washing Fabric! Now that would be enough to exclude you but I think you are OK there.
