Hi, I have a store bought V neck knit shirt, the V neck in centre is too low.
I want to add a piece of lace at the centre. I have tried 3 times to sew it
on, problem is that once pin and sew in looks even, but when I put shirt on
lace does not sit proper. How do I sew this lace on? :Canada:

In the "Olden days" most of those insets were not sewn in. They were simply held in place with snaps. Try the dress on and adjust the inset with the dress on. Mark the spot for your snaps. In some cases the inset was sewn on one side and then it snaped on the other. This type of insertion would probably give you more control over how it fit. Also, if you use the double snap method you can change out the insets if you want to change "the look" I even had some that were reversable.
