Okay, so what do you think of Clotilde's Sewing Savvy magazine? I received a mail offer for a subscription. What do you subscribe to that you truly enjoy or were sorry later that you did????

I don't want to start a debate.....just your points of interest or thoughts. Are there simple patterns; difficult ones; not enough info? The website is great from what I can see, but this is a new forum (magazine) for me, so thought I'd ask!

Thanks in advance!

I like Sewing Savvy for its ideas. It has lots of patterns in it for simple projects. I don't subscribe but I do buy occasionally.

I used to receive Sew News. But is always was here like 3 weeks after it was on the newstand so I never renewed.

I like Sewing Savvy, Creative Machine Embroidery & Janome Digest the best. I do take Sew News but the others I like better. I think it depends on just what you are most interested in. There are a lot of good ones out there but just not for everyone. At least not for me.

That's why I dropped my subscription. It's not cheaper if you pick it up at the newsstand while you wait for yours to come. Well... it was cheaper for my daughter who got the extra copy but not for me.

As for Sewing Savvy it is not really my style. I buy magazines for the articles, not the projects. That said, I have used some of the ideas from Sewing Savvy and I do pick it up when I see a new one. But I buy every sewing book I see.

I had a subscription to Sewing Savvy for a year. I did enjoy looking thru the magazine and liked the projects it had. I just never made any of them. The projects included pattern suggestions and what to do with them, home decor, clothing for adults, children, recycling clothing, quilting. It had articles about different fabrics and how to handle them. The magazine is stuffed with a lot of useful information, tips and hints, and things to do. I did save all the mags because one day I am going to make the quilted jacket they had a series on. Each issue did have at least one machine embroidery project also. If I were a sewist who liked to follow printed directions and make my own patterns when one wasn't available I would renew, but since I don't I didn't. The magazine construction and materials used in it are of high quality also. One thing that I didn't like---all the adds and post cards in it.
