My apologies to everyone, the content part of the site is down. Some unfriendlies are at it again. I have no idea how long it will take to resurrect everything or if we can but my server people are hard at work helping me. Thank you for your patience and keep your fingers crossed for an early comeback. MaryW

My sentiments exactly Sewhappie! I only wish I could get my hands on those little &*&(&*(&(*(&*. Between the hackers and the terrorists, I can't decide who the biggest cowards are. Patsy Patsy

Oh Mary, I am so sad and mad for you. I know it happened to us and I have no idea why someone would 'attack' sewing sites of all things. If there is anything at all I can do please let me know. This kind of stuff really makes me Nonie |

They hit any and all sites hoping to find someone with a computer not protected with firewalls and Anti-virus programs. If they find one then they can get into it and reek havoc on not only that persons system but anyone else that they may be in contact with. Not everyone out there is Computer Smart and do leave themselves open to many, many problems without even knowing it. I jumped all over my DD for taking her firewall off her system!!! You need to make sure that your computer is always behind a firewall and Anti-virus program and that it is ALWAYS updated to protect you and any one you are in contact with on the WWW. |

I am just glad you sent me my newletter ith the board address on it so that I could stop going through withdrawl. Sher ME TOO! I was so happy to get Mary's newsletter today with the forum address. I was really missing everyone!!! Sorry to hear about the problems, Mary, hope things are working for you again real soon. Maybe those hackers should read what we all want to do to them and then they'd leave us alone! Lyn

Just this week my server has caught & stopped a bank that I dont bank at trying to send me a virus. Know I'm not the only one that has been getting this. A friend of ours had his computer crash & lost everything & he was well protected. It's so scary anymore. I just can't understand what they find so funny or enjoyable in doing that. There's nothing to gain from it. We are well protected but that doesn't always mean your safe. Scary. |

I don't get it either. Why would anyone want to do things like that? I'm glad to be back on the boards today. When I tried yesterday and saw the problems, I thought NOT AGAIN. So sorry for all your trouble Mary, but THANK YOU THANK YOU for getting us back up again. |

My system went down on Weds night and we lost not only the computer but our phone service. I had to use my cell phone to talk to Tech Support as they asked me to disconnect everything on my system. Once we got the computer back up and running to where they could see my information they had to put me on hold and contact my local ISP here in Ohio to let them know that their system was trying to be hacked!!!!!! They where able to pull IP's off of my system to start tracking. I am behind 2 strong firewalls and Anti virus programs and a Router for all three computers, which acts as ANOTHER firewall!!! BUT...... they will be checking and let me know if it is coming from the one site that my son uses a lot on his Apple (which I have been told does not have any of the problems that we have in Microsoft), but because we use a Router they could have locked into my IP and where trying to do their nasty little deed. I would love to get my hands on those dirty little jerks and just SEW THEIR BLASTED FINGERS TOGETHER and see just how much they try to type then! |

Sewhappie, you sew one hand & I'll sew the other. Remember to back stitch. It just gets worse all the time. So far we've been ok but could happen at any time. I hope they find the culprit. I wish they'd throw the book at them when caught but I've never heard of that yet. They need to let us women at them. |

WOW I haven't been on lately but I had to get Mary to unlock my account I was locked out like a new member she says. But now I'm back up and still Mother IN Law. LOL I was told by tech support when I first got my first computer when I thought I had a virus that these idiots do this just to see if they can. It might be someone that is mad with the client you are dealing with or it could be new computer programmers just trying to see what they can do. Well I say try it on their own computers not mine. I'm just a little peeon in a sea of big fish. LOL Leave me and my friends alone. Anyway I'm glad we're back up and running. Hugs to all of you. I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.
