Ta - Daa, slip covers for my car seats are finally done, three years after starting. I knew I should not have looked at upholstery fabric so soon after buying a new vehicle. Darn stuff was on sale and it matched, how could I not buy it? LOL. The seat backs have been finished for some time, well OK, some years. Now I have finally finished the seats as well. It's been so long the seat backs have faded but I'm sure the seats will soon fade too. The never again part, well I said that after doing covers for the DH's truck but that was 15 years ago and they were just denim, no matching to do. Mine are plaid and I lined them for fear the black backing would melt off in hot weather. It sure melted when I ironed it. So this time I really mean it, never again. |

(after I taught my Dad to use my mothers sewing machine....) He MADE the seats for my sisters car...out of naugahyde (sp?) It only took him about 6 hrs or so. (we are/were a family of handy people). But he said, never again.. I don't think he really liked the sewing machine. ( I know I hated the darn thing...it was a New Home with tension problems....and it was that nasty light green color)... If my sister wants seat covers...I give her an Amazon gift certificate. (last yr it was Taz for her birthday.) Chrys
