This is a bit of a delicate question. I bought a bathing suit with a boy-short style bottom and it has a seem that runs from the belly button area all the way down and up the back. This seems causes a umm, sort of frontal wedgie, that I didn't notice before I bought it, as I tried it on with underwear. I ironed on a denim patch in the crotch thinking that the stiffness of the patch would fix the problem, but it didn't. Does anyone have any other ideas? I would really like to fix this issue because I like the suit, it just needs to be a little less revealing so to speak. Thanks, cha_cha |

I make these boy short bathing bottoms and I add a small square of doubled lining material to the crotch. I make the square about 3-4" in each direction and serge the 2 layers of lining together. Then I just hand tack the corners of the square to the crotch area. Tack each corner to the seam allowances. (think of a gusset or a diamond if you cannot picture this). This helps quite a bit. You could even put in an extra layer of lining if you think it would help more but I have settled on 2. One other tip. I always put elastic in the legs to keep the shorts from riding up. HTH, Mary |
